Either used canned (no salt) vegetables or fresh/frozen vegetable that are cooked until very soft. I also diced up fruits and cheese. Small pasta shapes. Ground beef, shredded chicken. Anything just about can be diced or shredded into finger foods. Just leave out heavy seasoning and salt.

i have been making all my own food (my little ones are 8 months) and have been using "super baby foods" as a guide. it's a great book with lots of recipes for when babies get older! good luck!

one that I use is
1 Cup of whole weat pasta (uncooked)
1/2 cup of frozen carrots and pea mix (with the carrots cut small)
1 jar of stage2 carrots
1/2 cup chopped meat

Cook pasta till 1/2 done add carrort & pea mixture and cook the restof the way..Drain and add the jar of carrot stage2 and mix together. Add any chopped meat I usually have leftover chicken or pork.
Cool and serve!!!
It usually make enough to last 2-3 days with twins 9month old
