Back to back twins? or singleton in between..

Hi All you wonderful blessed Parents, I was wondering those of you who have back to back twins or a couple of sets of twins with a singleton in the middle, do twins run in the family? I have twin Boys and really would like another child in the future, I would absolutely love twin girls, it doesnt bother me if i get 1, 2 or 3 children lol, but My doctor told me as they were my first children and we have no history of twins in the family I am at very high chances of having multiples again.. Has this happened to anyone else with no history/IVF/Fertility Drugs. ??

I had my twins first, I had a son and then found out I was pregnant with another set when I was 6 wks along, I had vanishing twin syndrom which is when one of the twins is absorbed into the uterus. I had a single baby boy. My husband's friend comes from a huge family, 3 sets of twins and 3 singles. One of the sets had a twin that passed at birth. Its just a roll of the dice. Twins are great, but singles are fun too. Good luck!

Identical twins are not caused by genetics. Fraternal twins are, and also are more common because if a woman hyper ovulates once she can do it time and time again. I have fraternal twin step sons that are 15, a 7 year old boy, and identical twin girls that are almost 19 months. In our case, it was God thinking it would be funny. I have no history of twins in my family, and whether my husband does or not does not make a difference in him having two sets of twins. Neither his ex-wife or I had a family history nor was either of us on any sort of treatments. But yes if you have fraternal twins it is very likely you can have another set and there are several women out there who do.
