Mine where 8 or 9 months when they started crawling and 11 or 12 months when they started walking. I was concerned at first but their pediatritian told me that because they were so early when the were born that he wasn't worried cause technically they would have been 6 or 7 months old if they werent born so early

On crawled around 7 months, his brother not until around 11 months. They walked within 1 week of each other and at almost 3 you can't tell. It can never hurt to get it checked but they are still within normal ranges right now.

my twins boy/girl are 11 months 8 days. The boy started crawling at 7 months, stannd at 10 months and now walking holding on to things. My girl is taking her time. She only started showing interest in crawling about two weeks ago. She is now army crawling and will avoid do that if she can. She can stand holding on to things but I have only seen her do that only two times as she would rather lifted. My twins have taught me one thing ....milestones are reached at diferent times. every child is deferent.

my babies are 6 months and showing no interest in crawling and barely rolling. I guess I don't stress about it because it will happen when it happens

Hi, I'm just going to go along with Katalina, my identical girls will be 4 next month, and have done everything at different times. They are definately individuals in every way. I found it made things easier that they didn't do everything together, especially crawling (at about 8 months) and walking, by the time my first twin was ready to get on her feet, the second one had been walking for almost 2 months and was very steady.
Dana, my girls hated "tummy time" until they were able to put themselves on their tummies themselves, then obviously roll off too.

I have twin girls that are now 3 and a half. From what i recall they were crawling at 9 months. One important thing to remember though- they will have different abilities at different times. Relitively around a short time apart. =) Best to you and your twins girl any more questions let me know. Thank you.

Don't stress mine are nine months and Im freaking out they still are not crawling yet! I also feel that every child is different and it will eventually happen. I also have a three year old and I kind of feel like it's my fault a little because I never give them enough of tummy time because he is always touching the babies and he's a little to rough. I also believe that they were born at 35 weeks, that makes a difference as well.

Thanks so much for asking this question as I was having the same dilema, my b/g twins are almost 8mths and although they roll all around the floor, they still aren't sitting or crawling. What had me worried was that my other two kids were both crawling and sitting unaided well before 8mths. I feel better now ready all these comments though.

I have twin boys now almost 17 months old. One started crawling at 9 months the other at a little over 10 months. It is different for all babies but twins seem to be a little behind most other babies. They started walking late too. One at 13 months and the other at 15 months. The more you put them on the floor and let them have tummy time the better thats where they seem to strengthen their muscles for crawling.

Mine are 9 months old and started crawling at about 7.5 months. I've read that not every baby crawls and it isn't considered a milestone because some don't even do it! Were they early?? If they were preemies they might develop a little behind what is "normal", don't worry....they will crawl and then you will never get a break!!!

Its interesting that everyone assumes that because they are twins that they are different from singletons. Each baby is an individual. If they were premie they are going to be a bit behind as a general rule (mine weren't) . Not all babies learn to crawl, they just go right to walking. If you are really worried why not contact their doctor?

My twins started scooting at about 6 months. Crawling at about 7 1/2 to 8 months. One started walking at 11 months and the other was 13 months before she was ready to walk. But then we discovered that she had an inner ear problem and had tubes put in her ears. That afternoon she was running around the coffee table chasing her sister.
All kids are different so don't worry. They will start crawling and then walking and you will be wishing for the days that they were containable.

My twins were born full term (38 weeks, 6 days). In their seventh month they started crawling. They both crawled before they sat up. At eight months, one of my twins was sits up with no use of hands, but the other still doesn't. Don't worry. They will be starting very soon!

It took my twins a bit longer... don't worry, they will start moving when they are ready and then you may wonder why you were in such a hurry! But it sure is cute when you look down and they found you...

It all depends on your babies.. My twin girls started to crawl @ about 5 months. But it is different for all. They didnt start to walk until they were 15 months. Once they take off there is no stopping them..

My twins were born at 32 weeks, so we were pleasantly surprised when they began to crawl and just around 7 months. And just so you know, my boys crawled before they were able to sit up on their own...a little backwards, I know, but that's just the way it went. They are now just over 9 months, and both pulling up to stand, and Paul is even trying to cruise along the furniture. I am sure he will be walking by the time he is a year old, if not sooner, and Vincent will be close after him. We give our boys a lot of floor time, though, which makes a big difference in their development, and I am home with them....so they get worked with on some of these skills more than they would if they were in daycare. I think it makes a difference.
Don't be discouraged. All babies are different, and crawling can start anywhere between 5 and 10 months, and some babies don't walk until 16 or even 18 months old. They're just more interested in doing other things.

Sitting up & starting to crawl seemed to happen about the same time here- I watched DD#1 rocking around trying to sit up & ending up caterpillar crawling across the room (without managing to land on her butt like she was aiming for). Around 7mo DD's# 1 & 2 started comando/inchworm crawling & DD#3 mastered sitting up but had no desire to join her sisters in mobility. Furniture surfing started around 9-10mo & DD#1 was walking on her own by 11mo (#3 was finally crawling & furniture surfing by then but didn't walk until 14mo). My girls were 9w early so I expected some extra time before mobility but didn't get it.

It will come don't push it, it goes by so fast mine are in the first grade and would give anything to be sitting at home watching them and wondering the same things you are right now, I miss it. But to answer you question it was like 6 months before my lil girl was crawling and her twin brother was like 7 or 8 months then they just started walking shortly after that.

One of my guys started at 6 and half months and the other one is 8 months and he is still doing just an army crawl. It really is a matter of their personality and the desire to try new things.

My twins were born at 28 weeks so their development is a bit different, but my one commando crawled for about two months before she actually crawled at 12 months. The other one just up and crawled one day at 13 months. They're now almost 14 months. It's like they just suddenly 'get' it. Three days after the first one crawled she was standing up by herself and the next week she started cruising. The other one still finds it difficult to get herself to sitting up. They're all different, don't worry about it, they'll get there in their own time.

My girls were about 11 months before they started crawling and are now 16 months and have only just started toddling around - so still mostly crawling. A friend of mine with twins had them both running around at 11 months so I suppose it all just depends on the children. Dont be in any rush to push them to walk or crawl, they will do it when they are ready, but you will find that as soon as one does it, it wont be long before the other copies their sibling!

Hi Channly,
my twins r now 8 n half mths old n they started crawling just wen they hit the 8mth marker. All babies develop @ different stages regardless of whether they r twins or not so please relax. Ethan was sitting first @ 4mths while Nate didn't quite sit unaided til he was about 5mths.

I have 8.5 month old boy/girl twins. And they are so very different. My son sitting up on his own and started to crawl before he hit 8 months and now after a few weeks he is everywhere and pulling himself up on everything. Daughter is different she is scooting but not fulling crawl and can't pull herself to situp on her own yet. So very soon....

I think that my boys were 8 or even 9 months before they started and then they were 14months before that were walking!! I remember that I would get down on the floor with them and get on all fours and rock back and fourth they would sometimes try to do the same thing or they would just laugh at me cause I looked so silly!
