double or triple stroller??

Mindy, did you push 2 strollers at once? Or did you have someone to help you with the second? Im terrified right now of trying to wrangle 4 children at the grocery store lol

i had a double stoller for my twins my daughter was 5 when they were born, now when the twins were 16 months old i had another baby so i got a single stoller for the 3rd child. so noone had to walk.

Thank you all very much for your help and advice!!! We ended up ordering a Joovy Big Caboose Double stroller with the toddler sit/stand on the back. Looks like the best option for us and ALOT cheaper than what I was expecting based on internet browsing! I know you said it wasnt ideal, Ann but unfortunately it seems to be the only viable option in our area. Here's hoping the newer model has some of the kinks worked out!

Keep looking for that triple stroller! My son was 14 months old when my twins were born, EASIEST for one person to be able to get OUT by themselves with my three little ones! I had a double and single family outings, but for my sanity to get us out of the house was a triple we walked ALOT. Keep putting word out everywhere, make flyers for local churches, hospitals, grocery stores, TRIPLE STROLLER NEEDED!!!!!! Hope you had as much luck as I did in finding good used triple stroller!!!!!

about 90% of the time, i am by myself and it would be with 3 infant/toddlers and a 9 yr old who could push 1 if i really needed but is just as likely to act silly and hurt someone... theres the doubles with the toddler seat on the back, i think thats what im looking for mostly where the toddler can walk most of the time and ride when hes tired.

We have twin boys almost 3 yrs now! When I was pregnant with them i found a twin stroller at target for less then $150, it came with seats and the attachments for a carseat also very portable. We are still using it. Before we found this one we did look for triplet strollers at the time you couldn't find them anywhere but specialty stores and there they was over $1,000. Would you be out strolling by yourself or would someone be with you? I would either use the attachments or get an umbrella stroller they are around $15 or so i think.

thanks carla! that will work in a year or so, but for the infant stage unfortunately umbrella strollers dont really provide the support they need for their heads, etc. but its something I will look into later on!

I bought a double and did the baby bjorn for one of the twins for shopping, and such. But did get a triple jogger for walking seriously around to get excercise.I'm done with it now, need to try to sell it or something, because yes, it was so expensive, but I did get a lot of use out of it, it's pretty used, and didn't hold up that well.

I bought stroller connectors in Germany when my twins were born, but I know they are available here in the states. They turn any umbrella strollers into double strollers by connecting them together on the bottom front legs, back legs and upper handles. They are amazing! I found them this morning on ebay. They make it affordable to have twin, tripple strollers.

You would think one of these wonderful corporations that makes these handy dandy contraptions would realize -- Hey... triple stroller, that means 3 infants, how bout we NOT charge a freakin arm and a leg!! I mean, those poor people have got to be STRAPPED and this is pretty much a necessity!.... *sigh* darn people.

I know it sucks! I am reversed from your position. I have 15 month old twins and am due with one in August. I have talked to a LOT of people about it and it seems the best thing is for the triple. I am having a hard time finding one too bc they are so expensive! I even thought about keeping our double (which is a REALLY nice one) and just putting our new little girl in a chest-carrier but I have been told by a few different people that there will always rise an occasion that will make that not a feasible option so it is best to just have the triple. i carried one twin baby in a bjorn, and put my 2 year old and other twin in a double stroller. That got me through 3 or 4 months, then my 2 year old was old enough to walk and hold on to the handle.

We have a 4 year old, 2 year old and identical twins 10 months old. So our youngest kids are 14 months apart. I had a duo glider from when we had our second kid but found that the front kid gets beat on from an early age. We decided to go with the Moby wrap. It is the only front carrier for twins. We had the twins in there for the first 3 months. Then we purchased a side by side jogger from our twins club. We sadly take both stroller at times or take the jogger and the umbrella stroller. When it is just me, I take the Moby for one twin now, they are too big to be in there together, and the double jogger. My four year old has to hold the handle bar so I know where she is. It is crazy but what can you do? We just try not to go any where. Good luck!

Hey There - I have twin girls almost 2 and a son 16 months older. ( the girls were born at 26 weeks so there should have been 19 months ) I had the Big JOOVY and what a danger it was. I had to return it after catching the front car seat going through doorways. However it was they only one I found that would hold the girls in the car seats and my son in the back. Once you buy it then read the instructions it'll say that the back standing / seat area is not recommended for under 2.5. Not to mention if you have the car seats in you are not suppost to use it for sitting. I did but my son need to lean forward.
My saving grace. The twins club in the area. Through it I was connected with someone who was getting rid of their triple. I got it for less than a double. I get quite a bit of comments when I use it, but it is often the only way I can do it to this day.

thankyou all so much for the advice :) I will look into the doubles w/ the extra sit/stand for the older one, and the idea of carrying one twin and letting Chase ride for a while honestly never even occured to me. Wow! Thanks!!!

Try ebay for a second hand stroller. You might be able to get something for 1/3 of the price of a new one.

I used the Joovy Big Caboose and it was awesome!! It has two seats and then a sit and stand for the third child. I had a double stroller but couldn't use the buggy board attachments because my older daughter wasn't tall enough and sometimes fell off or hit her chin. The Joovy was about $375 when I bought it but you may be able to get a used one on Craigs list.

I have 13mth old twins and due in 2 weeks for another and have just decided to get a backpack for the new one while my twins use the dub stroller...my situation is reversed from yours but it seemed to be the similar problem i was having. Once at least one of my elder girls begin to walk I will be switching the walker out and placing the infant in her spot...Triple seated strollers are way too far out of our reach in price so that is what we are going to be doing.

i have a 13mth old gal nd im xpecting twins in june..

so i bn thinkn wa cn i do, lots of ppl bn sayn about a buggy board or mayb a sling 4 1 of the twin soo the toddler can b in the buggy with the otha twins!!!

im goin 4 a sling coz my gal touches everythn nd she cud easly get of a buggy board!!!

Hi Tarina
When I had my twins now 2 yrs old my son was only 16 months old. We didnt bother buying a pram with the toddler seat attachement because his weight and the requirements were an issue and we would not get much benefit out of it, so we purchased a scooter/scateboard that attaches to the pram and he was very happy to stand on this. You can also get the ones that they can sit down on. So I would recommend this with a double side by side pram.
