I am looking to get a good double stroller, that I don't have to spend a fortune on. I found one that I love and had been highly recommended by another mother of twins, however the company discontinued it :( I am thinking I would like a side-by-side, but one that is lightweight and can fit through a standard doorway. Any suggestions???

I have a Duoglider, and I love it. With hubby being deployed since they were 4 weeks old it has been wonderful to be able to put their carseats in it and now that they are starting to sit up better being able to put them in it.

I have a double snap and go- great for when they are still small enough to fit in the car seat. A double bob- great, big, heavy and expensive- but it's a bob and fantastic for off road walking. We just took a trip to hawaii and bought a double umbrella type stroller. It's a combi twin sport. It folds up to look like a golf bag and there is a strap that you can carry it over your shoulder. It has along push handle (not 2 hook handles) so you can easily push it with 1 hand (very important for when I walk and want a hand free to drink my coffee). Its easy to use and the seats are cushy and recline. My girls are 3 months and they like it. And if your twins are young like mine, there is a infant guard that you can velcro around their handle bar- its hard to explain- but basically you don't have to strap them in cause this guard goes up and it protects their legs from sliding through. I hope this helps. Oh- and I bought it off Albeebaby.com for $169- no tax no shipping. It sells at BRUs for over 200 +tax.

Your twins r soooo cute! anyway, i didn't buy a double stroller. i bought detachable stroller connectors and 2 single strollers. i found these useful if i need to bring only 1 twin out or moving on escalators that fit only 1 stroller in shopping centres.

I think I had every type of double stroller made! I HATED the duoglider - it was just too bulky and heavy for me dealing with kids, groceries, in and out of stores... When they were tiny I had the snap and go double stroller - an absolute LIFESAVER! Then when we were getting ready to travel, we got the inglesina side by side umbrella stroller and we used it all the time! Ran it INTO THE GROUND! It was GREAT. Fit through every door with minimal maneuvering, light, easy to fold and I guess I was lucky that the kids never really bothered each other too much.

hi ,

speaking as a retailer and a mother of twins, if you are going side by side you couldnt go past a city mini twin. it is moor expensive but oh wow what a fold and light as. my next reccommendation would be peg perrago aria twin. check out my website, email me and mention this reply and i will give you a great discount.

We started out with the Graco Duo Glider, which is a tandem stroller. It held both infant carriers and had a lot of storage space. Once my twins grew out of the seats, we switched to a Combi Savvy. It's a side by side, and has a lot less storage. It's very light weight compared to the Graco and it fits through doors and down store aisles easily. Good luck on your quest to find the perfect stroller!

I loved my Graco side-by-side stroller! My girls are six and still like to touch one another to fall asleep. They were content to sit beside each other in the stroller. We tried the other kind and they hated it.

We had the same struggle! We LOVE our Baby Trend Jogging double wide stoller. It's light, functional, and easy to use when alone. We travel w it too. And best of all, it's affordable. We ordered ours from Target.com. Good luck

I think it's extremely easy to maneuver, unless it's really tight spaces because it is a large stroller. We have used it everywhere though, walking around the mall, the neighborhood and the doctors office too.

I have a City Mini jogger, which fits through most standard doors and is really easy to fold and unfold. It is also quite light.

I was quite lucky there is a shop in hospital that sell this gadget, which is actually a kinda of clip(3pieces of of them) and this clips will clip 2 stroller side by side. So all I did was to buy 2 similar strollers and I clip them both together as and when I need it to be.
You can find the clips here

I have both. I have the long one for when I go shopping and we use the wide one for the Zoo. It is near impossible to take the wide one in stores. Have you tried Craig's list? I got a Jeep side by side for $100 and it looked brand NEW! I was amazed! I bought my long one it is Evenflow. Oh my mom got a cheap side by side... she got it at a baby resale store for $25... it looks kinda cheap but it works for her and my dad when they have the boys.

Jennifer,
Is it easy to maneuver? Does it turn well? I have the baby trend stroller that you just click the car seats into, but it turns horribly and pulls to the right really bad. That is why I wanted to do a sidy-by-side- I heard that they are easier to steer.

I hate the side by side..my twins bother each other when they are in it. The only time I use it is to go for walks around the neighborhood, if I took it to a store or doctor we'd never make it out! This has worked out the best for us..it's kinda pricey but it is sooo great! http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d... They can face each other, both face you, or one face you one outward or both outward. Mine like to both face me.

I had the jumbo-glider...i mean the "duo-glider" for when they were intheir carseats and I posted on a twin moms discussion board about this. I was told to get 2 SEPARATE umbrella strollers (make sure the height accomodates you or whoever will be pushing the stroller-this is VERY important so try it out before you buy them) and then purchase the stroller connectors. I just got them all last week and I LOVE THEM! I didn't, however, get a stroller with the correct height for me. I am 5'9'' and my husband is 6'4'' so being on the taller side I didn't think about them being low. If you get the ones with the extensions on them it might be better. We purchased the nicer ones it's called the Cosco Umbria stroller and I love everything about it except the height but if you are smaller it would probably be fine but you can even get the cheaper $14.00 umbrella strollers too but anyways, my strong recommendation that I received and I now pass to you is this: get 2 separate ones with the connectors because then if you have one baby and someone else has the other, you can still each have a stroller and the connectors work on most every kind of U.stroller because they just snap right on the leg-bars. Perhaps the best thing I have bought in a long time and they only weigh like...I don't know...a few pounds or something. They are so easy to set up you just lift the handle and BAM! and to fold they fold small and easily.

I had a in-line stroller, front/back, and it was great! Kids couldn't fight, and I could take it anywhere, up/down the isles, etc. I strongly advise against the side by side strollers, too wide, bulky, heavy. Good Luck!

I have one by Graco. I don't remember the model name, but the style is "Fortune" I bought it on-line from BabysRUS. I LOVE it. I also have carseats from Graco and they lock easily into the stroller, so I was able to use it from birth. It's not a side by side tho. I thought a side by side would be to difficult to manuver when I was out shopping. I can life it easily but I still wouldn't call it "lightweight". I've seen several other sets of multiples with my stroller as well.

I had a Combi Double Stroller when my twins were babies. That was six yrs ago. I liked it a lot. I could fold it pretty small, lightweight, and as long as a doorway was big enough for a wheelchair this went through fine. The link I sent isn't the exact one I had, but close.

I even took this on airplanes and ferries, I grocery shopped (this was before they came out with the carts with that have cars with double seats), Went walking with it. It held up pretty good.

Here's a link to Amazon with double strollers side by side as an option.

I didn't have any issues with my identical twins fighting at all. I didn't want to have tandem stroller at all.

I would not recommend a side by side I have a graco side by side and it does not work well boys are constantly fighting and it does not turn easily.

I have had both types of strollers. The side by side was great for big places like malls and such but wasn't really practical for shopping in grocery stores, dollar stores, places I most often shop. My twins are 3 now and about to outgrow their stroller. I feel I should give it a proper barrial and put a tombstone up. It has been a life saver. If I were you I'd go with the standard double.

i got the graco bombay stroller for my shower but it is very bulky. However I met a twin mom who recommended the baby trend snap n go stroller. I have that one as well because it is light weight and easy to manage when I am by myself with the babies. It doesn't cost more than $100 and you can buy it online at target, babies r us etc.

I found that with my side by side stroller my twins seemed to bother eachother more like by taking each others toys or pinching ar hitting each other where my other front back stroller seemed they kid of forgot each other were that close and they seemed to leave each other alone and enjoy their stroll. The stroller I have is an evenflo sport
