My 11 month twin boys will drink juice or water from a sippy but they refuse to drink formula from a sippy....they will only take their formula from a bottle! I have tried it several times & I end up just having to throw the milk out because they wont drink it. I know people have said to just put it in front of them & then they will eventually drink it but formula has a time span...after an hour I have to just toss it. They drink from sippy cups just fine too....I have even tried putting their formula in all kids of different styles of sippys....didn't work!! I can't just NOT give them their formula...they are still really little for their age so they need all the stuff from their formula....HELP!!!

PS. My sister in law gave her son real milk in his sippy to get him to drink from it, but my doctor said to wait until they are 12 mon to make the switch...do you think I should just try it anyways (they are 11 mo).

i have 3 kids, 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 yrs old twins, and i switched them all at 9 months from formula to homo milk(3%) and they all have done fine. i used to warm up the milk a bit and they took to it just fine.

I started mixing the milk in with their formula a couple of ounces at a time. I did 2 of milk and 6 of formula, a couple of weeks later I would increase the milk and decrease the formula. I continued doing this until my kids were totally on milk. By the time you get the formula gone, the babies will be old enough to have the milk. This also gives them extra calories to help them grow.

My twins refused formula or milk in anything except their bottles until 18 months, when my doctor suggested adding a flavoring such as vanilla or strawberry. To this day, almost 9 years old, they both only drink strawberry flavored milk. I hate that they get this sugar, but it is more important as they are growing to get the calcium in.
