i drove up til i delivered @ 32 wks but it wasn't that easy. i had an SUV which is heavier than a car. making turns took a little more effort than before and i did have to shift my steering wheel and move my seat back too. i think you will be fine, just have to make a few changes :)

I was put on bed rest around 32 weeks. But the closer you get to 30 weeks its just uncomfortable to drive (or really to do anything - stand, sit, lie down...). I was never told I couldn't drive, I just decided to stop driving b/c I was so uncomfortable the bigger I got and the closer I got to the due date.

I stopped driving at 28is - basicaly cause I was put on modified bed rest and it was winter so I tried not to go out, but yes it gets hard and I only gained 35 lbs total...I was small and was still uncomforatblet driving, and I had an SUV with lots of space and comfy seats.

The only thing that stopped me from driving was the size of my belly lol, I am short so I already have the seat close the the steering wheel at about 28 weeks my belly would rub on the steering wheel. I ended up getting pre-clampisa and was put in the hospital at 30 weeks and had an emergency csection and 33.5 weeks, my girls were 2 lbs 13 oz and 4 lbs 4 oz they were in the NICU for 30 days.

I was never told not to drive. I word platform shoes to help me reach the petals and sat as far from the steering wheel as I could. I had also been told by someone that I wouldn't be allowed to drive so I asked my OB. She told me that back before cars had air bags it wasn't recommended (for any pregnancy), but as long as our car had an airbag it was fine.

i would recommend to ask your mid wife. every pregnancy developes differently and you might still be able to drive when other could not. at around 30 weeks i stopped driving and had a collegue pick me up for work and then dropping me off home. i went early into maternity leave at 32 weeks because i was told that twins very likely come prematurely but then waited another 7 weeks for them to come along. without being able to drive i got bored so badly. anyway just make sure you ALWAYS have your mobile phone on you wherever you go......

I drove until the day I delivered at 36wk/6days. Fortunately, I drove an Explorer which was comfortable. I think unless there is some concern for the babies or mom's health, there really is no restriction.

Unless your OB says otherwise, you should be able to drive throughout your pregnancy--just maybe not long distances.

I drove up till about 32 weeks, at which point I couldn't safely get behind the wheel anymore. My belly was so big it was actually touching the steering wheel and my husband was terrified to have me drive. The doctor never actually restricted driving though, I stopped by my own choice.

I was able to drive my entire pregnancy. I was never on bed rest and was induced at 37 weeks 2 days. I did start to hurt me around 30ish weeks though. The twisting of turning the wheel just hurt my ribcage.

I was never told not to drive. But I was so big that I stopped driving because being short I had trouble getting into a safe position for driving. If I was close enough to reach the pedals I was too close to the steering wheel. I delivered at 35 wks 4 days.

I drove until my girls were born at 37 weeks. I think as long as you feel safe driving and you don't have any medical conditions that would prevent you from driving then you'll be fine. Don't get fooled into all the Don'ts and limitations people will put on your just because your having twins. Stay healthy and trust your instincts. Congratulation on your babies! :)

There were two reasons I stopped driving when I was pregnant with my twins. The first was that I began to "see stars" when I turned around to check my blind spot and then turned back to face the road. The second was the deal breaker: I could no longer fit behind the wheel! I was probably around 30 weeks. I began my pregnancy large, though. I carried my boys until the day after my due date and then had to be induced.

It's not that you are not allowed, it's that you can't sit straight up or you won't fit between the seat back and the steering wheel. If you are on bed rest then I guess you are not allowed, but if you are healthy do what feels normal. If it doesn't feel good, don't do it. I couldn't sit after 28 weeks, while others are fine at 40w. When I bent my kids were shoved into my lungs or pressed my heart. Very uncomfortable.

I had no medical complications and made it to 37 weeks and 5 days. Approximately the last two months my husband told me he didn't feel comfortable with me driving. I am only 5'2" and the last two months my belly touched the steering wheel. I couldn't turn the wheel without it pushing into my stomach. (I moved the car a couple of times so my kids could play in the driveway.) I had 13lbs of baby in my tummy ... so it was an issue. It just depends on how you feel and how big your stomach gets. Goodluck!

Why WOULDN'T you be able to drive after 30 weeks? What's the reasoning behind that? I went on hospitalized bedrest at 26 weeks, so there was no driving for me... lol... but I can't see why you wouldn't be able to if you're well and up and running.

I drove all the way to delivery date. The big thing to remember is that although normally you want to point the steering column away from your face and more toward your belly when you are pregnant you want the airbag to deploy above your belly if you have a crash. Just drive slow. Make sure you are aware of your surroundings and don't drive in bad weather. Use your judgement. I drove to my appointment at 9am the day after christmas. My water broke in the office, I was alone at that appointment and they wheeled me over to the hospital as I called family on my cell phone. I delivered just a little while later. May family barely made it to the delivery. It all happened very quick and without drugs.

I drove up until a week before my twins came at 34 weeks. At that point I couldn't reach the gas pedals anymore, but I am really short in the legs and arms, so I'm sure that makes a difference....if you are taller, you should be fine!

I went full term with twins; induced at 39 weeks. Driving was *never* an issue! I'm pretty sure I drove to the hospital.
Granted I was big, and I did have to move the seat back and adjust the steering wheel to the 'bus driver' position, cause that belly can get big with twins. But I always managed to fit in the car & reach the steering wheel with at least an inch between my belly and the wheel.
The bigger concern with twin pregnancies is 'bed rest'. I had 'modified bed rest' which meant no work, but I was still able to drive, and do light errands - just extra easy on myself.
With twins, you want to bake your buns as long as possible for healthy babies, so take it easy. Drink lots of water, eat very well, sleep very well, and delegate everything!
Good luck!

I drove to my doctor's appointment at 35 weeks, and they admitted me that day, so I driving up to the day I delivered the girls. However, it was a very tight squeeze into the seat, had I gone much longer I don't think there would have been enough room for me to reach the peddles with as far as I had to put the seat back in order for my belly to fit!!!!
