I was wondering if anyone knows if its ok to eat a cooked smoked ham at xmas. I know you can't eat them cold but can't find info on the net about it.

Xmas ham is fine as long as it is heated to the proper temperature. If you have preeclampsia or are starting to show signs of it stay away from it.

the smoked ham that you shouldn't eat is the parma ham type where it is smoked only and not cooked.
Any type of cooked ham is fine...hot or cold

It's fine to eat. If you're meaning about eating cold deli meats / listeria it's just because after cooking they can be contaminated before packaging. Eating a cooked meat product shortly after is fine (as long as it gets to the proper temp, that will kill the listeria off)

I was told ham was good (hot or cold) as it contains lots of iron which is good for pregnant women. Obviously, dont' eat raw ham...but I never heard anything about not eating ham.
