I've got 14 week old twin girls and have been researching exersaucers (I can't imagine putting them in walkers in my apt.) As with most items, I've got to buy two. LOL I was wondering if other parents of multiples found them necessary ?? I don't want my girls to do without, but I also don't want to spend money on stuff that they will only use for a few months. My husband and I are first time parents --help! :D

Someone gave me an exersaucer and I ended up buying a second one used. Bought Evenflo for both so the toys are interchangeable. I try not to leave them in them for too long at one time, but they spend time in them several times a day. When they get bored with the toys I just switch them all around and I have two happy babies again.

I thought with my girls that if you buy 1 of everything that would be fine, we have 1 exersaucer and a horse jumper thingy that we rotate them between, I was told not to go uot and buy 2 of everything cause some kids love one thing but the other might hate it. So true, I suggest borrowing from friends to see if your child will enjoy it, or just getting one to start with. I found the excersaucer great it helps them ballance while holding there heads up on there own, walkers are banned here so I have yet to try that which I think would be great. Either way hope you find somthing tha works for you and good luck.

Ok- here is my opinion. They are a must have. I bought one bouncy one, and one that held still and gave the kids turns. I do not think a lot of toys on them are great tho. The less expensive ones with fewer toys are great because down the road you have room for cheerios on the tray and that really keeps them happy! The downside is that I have heard that they can inhibit walking, and my boys did not crawl until 11 months (OMG) but they walked by 13 mo. with intervention. Even knowing that, I don't know how I would have made it thru those months without them!

I've found with twins there are somethings that you buy that don't turn out the way you expect, usage-wise. But the exersaucers were one of the best purchases I've ever made thus far. I tried the Jumperoos, and the Jolly Jumpers, but my daughter just hung there looking depressed, my son loved them. But when they were in the exersaucers (ones that bounce) they would have jumping competitions. Really cute! and made for some entertaining videos for the family. Really noisy though! Good luck

GREAT INVESTMENT!!! My twins were 6 months old before they were happy in the exersaucer, then my sister gave me her son's Baby Einstein Jumper. Yes these take up a lot of room, but they keep the babies entertained for so long. Go on ebay or check out Goodwill. You can get an awesome deal on ebay when you compare it to store prices. Also, before I had the Baby Einstein jumper I was alternating the twins between the exersaucer and a walker that had toy attachments. I also live in an apartment, so far the babies have only learned to push themselves backwards. So as long as you have something behind the walker the baby should be fine. Good Luck Michele!!

I still had the jumper and the exersaucer from my son and then I got a second exersaucer from a friend (used one) and I love having them! Especially now that the babies are mobile, sometimes you need to keep them in one place while you are doing something - like vacuuming or taking food out of the hot oven, etc.

I bought an exersaucer/jumparoo in one. My two absolutely love it. I could not do with out one of these, it is a life saver. I only bought one and I rotate from floor time to the exersaucer/jumparoo. When you have multiples you only need to buy one of certain things and just rotate. Always check the second hand stores because they are usually reasonable in price and their items are usually like brand new. Good luck and treasure every moment.

I actually used a walker for my son (my daughter did not care for it much) as I had no stairs. He loved it! I will also warn you that I started him in it by 4-5 months as he loved to stand holding onto fingers and I think the walker only encouraged him to start walking at 7 months of age!!! Lots of fun to have twins walking sooo early!

My girls LOVE them, they have been a lifesaver! They have been in them since they were 4 months old and they are 8 months old now and still love them. You can get them for a really reasonable price at a second hand store, most of the toys on them come off and can be cleaned really well, you'll want to do that if they are second hand, since they put EVERYTHING in their mouths!!! They only downsize is the space issue, but let me tell you, once they get moving its a great place to put them and know that you can get some stuff done and that they are safe.

Exersaucers can be a life-saver but do take up a lot of room, renting is a good idea, bu try to check around with friends and family to see about borrowing, so you can give them back when you are done and not have to store or find a buyer. If you have a wide enough doorway look into the hanging jumpers so that you can put it away when not in use.

my boys are one year old now and they just outgrew the exersaucers, well sometimes they even want to go back in them, but anyhow they are a must have. Lifesavers! my boys loved them, and that's when you can get most of your housework done. They're great.

I think the idea of the jumper and the saucer is really good. You could alternate them between them, so they wouldn't constantly be doing the same thing. Also if your apartment has somewhere that you could hang one then, you might consider a johnny jump up. They are relatively inexpensive and my sister in law swears by hers, but I never had one. I had a free standing jumper, and my boys absolutely loved it. They would play in it and very often times fall asleep in it from having exhausted themselves. I definately think walkers are a waste of money because at first they are going to get hung up on things no matter how much space you have, and by the time they learn how to maneuver them then they usually can just walk on their own without it and prefer to do so. It'd probably be fine if you wanted to chase your kid around and unstick him all the time, but those things are supposed to help free mom up a little bit aren't they? Hope this helps.

My twins liked the Jumperoo, the free standing jumping toy that played music. I would recommend getting 2 different ones, maybe a Jumperoo and an ecersaucer. You can also try those arches with the toys. They babies lay on their back and the toys are over head, you can start using them now and they last a while because the toys can be taken off and played with alone. They also fold nicely to fit under a couch.

We LOVED the saucers! My boys would be so engaged and play in them for about an hour at a time. They absolutely loved going in them. What was nice is it would allow me to get things done, like cooking dinner or folding laundry, and I knew my babies were happy and stimulated. Now they're 10 months and don't use them as often, but I don't know what we would've done without them.

We bougth second hand exersaucers from a rental company. Saved on cost and the exersaucers were still in extremely good condition. The boys loved them and they were the one thing we wouldn't have done without. We on-sold them later on and recouped the majority of the buy price. Have you got a local multiple birth club that you belong to that have a stock of things like exersaucers you can rent month by month?
