drink more for sure, check the babies, if they are ok it means they are getting it from you, if you were slim to start with then eat more, if you were overweight then enjoy =) I was overweight now have a lot less kgs and feel a lot better, all thank to breastfeeding on demand! And I can eat a dessert every meal!

I had hyperemesis gravidarum with 2 of my kids. My end pregnancy weight with my second was 34 pounds less than my starting. They delivered him pre-term because I was starving to death. He was 8 pounds 3 ounces! I was told that the baby is a parasite and will get what they need, regardless of your health, at your expense. My end weight with my third was a gain of 3 pounds and she weighed 6 pounds 1 ounce.
You do need to be concerned as the babies are taking your body for nutrition if you're not eating it. This makes for a much harder recovery and difficult breastfeeding if you choose to do so. Make certain your doctor is aware of both issues (weight loss and rising BP). Try drinking supplements such as Ensure. Eat high protein meals (peanut butter sandwiches, cheese slices) often and in small amounts.

I am 31 weeks pregnant with g/g twins and I have only gained 8lbs. With my first two pregnancies i gained between 20-25 lbs. They were worried at first with the twins until I went to high risk and they did my ultrasounds. they say the babies are perfect weight and they guess they are taking all of mine. You are ok as long as they are ok. I started drinking ensures, whole cups of milk and eating like crazy at night but still my weight goes up 3lbs then down 1 1/2. so dont worry your self about getting big, I guess some of us just dont..

sweety any time something seems wierd to you, call the dr... its what they are there for. a simple ultrasound can tell you if your twins are still growing at a good rate, and it may be an issue that your placenta is no longer functioning at 100% capacity which im sure you have read is a risk when you get further along w/ twins. As far as the weight gain, I have only gained 9 pounds (well maybe 1 or 2 more my scale broke last week lol) so far, im 26 weeks with my twins, but they are growing well and i started overweight so im not concerned about that. Heres a few things you can try to ease your mind until your dr can fit you in... keep track of your calories for a day or two. Remember you should be getting your normal amount + i think its 2-300 extra for the babies? If you are eating less for whatever reason, that can be an obvious reason for the weight loss.. if you are feeling ill that can be another. blood pressure rising can be due to the increased strain of the babies on your body, or you worrying over the weight loss! :) Honestly, just give the dr a call, she will probably fit you in quickly as w./ twins you are a high risk pregnancy and theres liability issues... and it will ease your mind which is the most important. Better safe than sorry, hun!!

I kept losing weight during my pregnancy also, and I was told to drink at least 1 high caloric drink (eg ensure) per day, to help me get the calories that I needed. They don't taste too bad either. I ended up with 4 pound babies, but they were 2 months preemie.

I lost weight too with my twin pregnancy and when I gave birth my twins weighed 12lbs and 13oz on there own and I had only put on 14lbs in total.
by 32 weeks I could only eat standing up as nothing would go down,
I would keep an eye on the blood pressure.

Hi I lost weight with my twin pregnancy up until the 7th month. Every month i would go to the doctor i would have lost a pound or two. My doctor said it was ok as long as the twins were growing normally which they were. I only gained 13 pounds, and most of that was baby weight. My girl weighed 5lbs 7 oz and my son 5lbs 13 oz, which is a good size for twins.

well if your skinny your not going to gain much i have known tons of people who were skinny & had babies & didnt gain much as for me i gained ALOT (im not skinny but im not fat either). just bring it up with your doctor that your concern about your weight gain with your twins

I didn't gain a lot of weight either. You have to remember they are taking a lot more calories from you then a singleton. Just keep eating like you have been and as long as they continue to gain weight don't sweat it. actually after I had mine I weighed less then when I got pregnant. Of course I had weight to lose anyhow. when I had them I weighed only 10# more then I was when I got pregnant. didn't even have the swelling that you usually get. However I was on bedrest for 13 weeks. so I lost a lot of muscle. good luck and take it easy.
