Help! Girl Twin only wants to nap 1/2 hour at a time suddenly.

I sometimes have the same issue, my twins are 9 months. My son is a great sleeper and napper, but my daughter sometimes can't get past the 40 min mark for a nap. If I hold and rock her she can sleep for much longer, sometimes she sleeps longer if I give her teething tablets before the nap and turn on the humidifier. I think the white noise is soothing to her. Good luck, I know how tough it is!! : )

My kids go through "phases" like this quite frequently. Moving their nap a little later in the day has helped, but mostly they just go through these phases on their own it seems, eventually they got back to napping like normal...at least for now

My boys do the same thing...they only sleep for a 1/2 hour at a time...sometimes it's 3 days in a row, sometimes it's only one day. It's frustrating, I know. I have recently bought another crib, this seems to help. Mine are teething right now too...which I think is the major cause of why they keep waking up. It's bothering them. Just to make you feel better, mine no longer take even two hour naps. I am pretty exhausted to say the least. Wishing you the best.

i was told there are two reasons a baby wakes after such a sort nap. my twins are 3 months old and we went through phases of short catnaps like that and it drove me mad. either they weren't tired enough and didnt need the sleep then or they were overtired and couldn't transition between sleep cycles. with my boys i found they were up too long and became overtired so when i put them down they slept around 30-40mins then woke crying even though they were clearly tired and when they got up were cranky. apparently babies like us have a light sleep cycle before they go into a deep sleep and that light sleep is around 30-40mins so they usually wake for a minute or two after that time and then drift into a deep sleep but cause my boys were too tired they were finding it hard to move from one sleep cycle to the next. does that make sense? sometimes after only being up for an hour or a little more i put them to bed and i get 2 hour sleep from them but if i keep them up they only give me a nap. it may not work for you but i found it happened when they went through growth spurts and needed a bit extra sleep or they had a bad sleep earlier in the day etc etc. good luck.

If she wakes get her up and let her have some up time so that she doesn't wake her brother. Then put her down for her nap a little later on, she should sleep for longer. If this happens everyday, you may have to move her nap time to a little later and keep her up a bit longer in order for her to be tired enough to sleep longer. I hope this makes sense?!

Ok so i was told teething pills or something like that. you can get it in target or wal-mart. Another thing is that babies are just like us when they are in pain they are in pain. I know this now because I just went though it. also check if she is hungry because some times my babies(girls) are wanting just a little more.
just sometime I learned some twins are different. but thought I would share

How old is she and how many naps a day is she getting? My daughter did this for a while around the time she was transitioning from 3 to 2 naps a day. I just kept her awake longer (which did make her fuss more) but once she was solidly into a 2 nap a day phase, she had longer naps again.
