So I know im proably crazy. ive had this crazy feeling that its twins the whole time. i have an at home doppler and have been picking up 3 heartbeats,84= mine and two others, a 160 and a 130. my first ultrasound at 11 weeks was a quick one, and only one baby so no biggie. i went to the doc today at 14 week 6 days and the nurse also picked up the 3 heartbeats a 120ish 160ish and a 80ish. so we did a super quick ultrasound and they only saw one baby, but im still convinced one is hiding. am i crazy or could there actually be two in there? i havent gained any weight at all, ive actually lost a few lb but my belly is gettin super round.

It is possible to have a hiding twin - a prior boss had this happen and had no idea until delivery day!!!!

No worries! They didn't find my daughter until I was 30 weeks, 5 ultra sounds, my doctor and family laughing at my description of kicking, saying the baby was spread eagle. Right. We mom's usually know first. I have no history, had lost weight but was huge! It wasn't until I demanded another ultra sound they found her. Luckily for you, they have new technology with 3D or 4D ultrasounds. Anyway, my boy & girl twins will be 14 in 2 weeks so youre bound to find out one way or another.
Good luck and remember YOU are in control of your body and baby/babies so use your voice : )

Didn't find out until 20 weeks.... No twins in our family, no indications of twins, just a fluke I guess. They're awesome though, so good luck!

It is very possible that you maybe having twins cause I went at 6 1/2 wks to have a first u/s they only saw one heart beat and said that I look good n so did baby. Then we didn't go back for another one until 16 wks and that is when the u/s tech put the gel on my belly and the wand and saw 2 little heads moving around :) It was the most craziest thing to see since I never saw a twin u/s before. So now I have 4 month old identical twin girls!!!!

yep it is entirely possible, 2nd pregnancy, 1st U/S saw 1 baby...never heard echoed heart beats, nothing...during 7th month of my pregnancy, went to find out boy or girl and found out 2 babies. One was transverse (lying sideways) at the top of the uterus the other was in traditional position. C-section at 37 weeks 6lbs 5oz and 6lbs 9 oz bouncing baby boys! :) Good luck.

did not find mine until my 20 week ultrasound. One was hiding! the ultrasound tech was quite shocked by the whole thing when she found out she missed a baby the first 2 times.

I too had my suspicion cause I would feel two different kicks on each side of my belly... I would tell my husband that I think there's two babies inside, but he would tell me to stop joking. On my 6 almost 7th month of pregnancy we went to get a sonogram at a lab, joking with her I said now dont tell me theres two, and the lady looked at us and asked if we had spoken to the doctor. We said "yes" and she asked if he ever said anything about it. We said no, at that time I was freaking out thinking something was wrong with my baby, she pulls my husband aside and told him that there was indeed two babies. He looked at me laughed and said omgosh you where right we're having twins. It's very possible that there could be a baby hiding. My belly was as big as a 6 month belly when I was only 3 months pregnant. I gave birth to my twins at 39 weeks. The boy weighing in at 5 lbs 15 oz and the girl at 6 lbs 6 oz.

Well, I had my first u/s at 5 weeks.. they saw 2 sacs but only 1 heartbeat. at my u/s at 6,7,and 8 weeks, they saw the same. They told me that the other sac was empty and it would disappear on its own. At 11 weeks, I was in a car accident so they did another u/s and to the tech's surprise, both sacs had strong heartbeats.. and for the rest of the pgcy, baby b was always HARD to find... So yes, I think it IS possible. Best of luck to you.

While it's unlikely, it DID happen to my cousin and they isn't notice during her 12 week or her 20 week u/s... She was more than 7 months Pregnant when they found the second baby... It was her 2nd pregnancy and she didn't noicr anything different from the first... It can happen! Although I thought for sure my second Pregancy was another set of twins, it was only one!

Dear Laci,
No worries time will tell. You will know in due time. Patience is a good thing to strengthen if you are having twins anyway. good luck and keep us posted. Polly
