Just wondering if any of you have had "large twins". My twins are now 5 years old, but people still ask me what they weighed when they were born. i tell them that they were full term and she was 8lbs5.5 oz and he was 6lbs12oz..............people always thing I am just kidding or something that all twins are small and there is no way I had all that baby inside of me....and gave birth naturally.............so,just seeing if anyone eles has this issue?

I know how you feel... you did beat me but people have always been astonished that mine were 38 week full term c-section 6lbs 13oz & 6lbs 9oz. So if I had gone naturally I probably would have beat you :) People just dont know enough about twins. I was always amazed by how many people would ask me if they were twins when I was toting both infant carriers... just simple minded people... ignore them. Secretly I have always wanted to say "No, I just had them both at the same time." Then walk away & leave them utterly confused!

My twins are 13 now and I still get asked that too. I was scheduled for my C 3 weeks early since she kept flip flopping. My daughter was 6lbs 14oz and my son was 7lbs 3oz. They would have been 8 and a half pounds each if I'd gone to term. yes, people are shocked at that.

My twin girls were 6 lbs. 2 oz. each born 8 years ago at 36 weeks by C-section. They came home with me 8 years ago and are doing fine. They were faternal and look very different. Now at 8 years old, one is tall and skinny while the other is short and bigger. They have always weighed the same at the doctor's office; I guess the height of the skinny one makes up for the difference. They are amazing! They will celebrate their 9th year of age on August 31st.

My boys were born in 1998 at 32 wks and Mike weighed 3/10 and matt weighed 2/13. most twins are born premature and have low weight. but there are many cases that go full term and both babies weigh more then 5 lbs each. congrats.

I had a plan c-section at 38 weeks because one was breach and the other oblique, not to mention that my uterus had stopped growing around 35 weeks but the babies were still growing! They were 5lb 13 oz and 5 lb 14 oz. they are now almost 3 months and have more than doubled their birth weight.

My twins were born at 36 1/2 weeks. I was in the doctor on Thurs and asked him to see if I was dilating and he said no it's too early. So then on Sunday I was in so much pain that I went to the hospital to find out I was dilating and my contraction were 3-4 mins apart. I had them c-sec that evening both weighing 6# 1oz. I was surprised as the doctors kept telling me they will be small around 4#. They were so wrong. I had a c-sec with my first so didn't go into labor so didn't know what was happening to me. My older child was only 2 1/2. But it was all fun!

Hi. My fraternal twins were full-term also. My daughter weighed 7lbs. 9ozs. Her brother weighed 6lbs. 1oz. I had to have a cesarean because they were both breech. But you are not the only one to have full-term, large twins. I think it's "a fraternal thing". I didn't have any major complications either. Just Braxton-Hicks, once. So, Congratulations and Good Luck. They are 16 now and driving me crazy. You have a lot to look forward to.

My twins were five weeks early - my son was 6lb 3oz and my daughter was 4lb 5oz. I think my daughter was so much smaller because I had pre-eclampsia and I think her placenta might've stopped working effectively.

i managed to get to 33weeks with my girls, although i went into labour at 30 weeks, there was simply no more room for them lol. both was c section as both were breech, natasha weighed 4lb 2oz, and emily weighed 3lb 13oz, both was 15inches long and only spent 3 weeks in hospital which surprised me, they are 6 now and there is only 1cm differance in there height and they are amonst the taller group in there class at school, there baby brother was 4lb 2oz and 16 inches long at 35weeks,

My twins were born at 36 weeks by C-section (after being in and out of the hospital for 6 weeks with pre term labor!) My daughter was 6 lbs 1 oz and my son was 4 lbs 4 oz. My daughter was breech - feet down - the whole entire time so there was no chance for natural birth for me.

My girls were MOMO twins (they shared everything). We had our c-section at 35 weeks. They were 5 lbs 1oz and 5 lbs 7oz. 10 pounds total at 35 weeks. Doctors were afraid they had tied each other up in their embilical cords so we took them early.

I also made it to full term. now, they're 1yr and 1 month old and they're fine. don't worry too much. if they're small when they were born, so what? as long as your kids are healthy, right? =)

My twins were 6 weeks premature and weighed 5lbs 13.2oz and 5lbs 8.6oz. They stayed in the NICU for 12 days coz of jaundice, difficulty breathing, and they need to show signs of weight gain. I was supposed to be induced but my water broke 5 days before the scheduled induction. My labor pains were back to back and so bad so they put me for emergency C-Section. I found out from my husband after I woke up that I kicked one of the nurses coz of my pain. I went to her and apologized. :D

Wow, reading everyone else's comments makes me feel unique. I had 2 sets of twins already (before getting pregnant with another set) and they weighed: 1st set- 6lbs 5oz and 6lbs 11oz 2nd set- 7lbs and 6lbs 15oz but my third set were both breech so I had to have a C-section. The doctor's all said that the babies were measuring a little large, about 8lbs each, but no one suspected the truth. Our twins weight at birth was 10lbs, each. CRAZY!
