How far along were you when you found out you were having twins?

Just curious, how far along were you when you found out you were having twins? My husband and I had the first ultrasound at 6 weeks and specifically asked if we were having twins because they run in my family nad the doctor said there was just one. At 11 weeks we had a second ultrasound because we had a new doctor and the ultrasound stll showed one although it was a really quick one and she had no reason to look for a second baby. Then at our 21 week appt. to find out the sex a third doctor who does the 3D ultrasounds flicked on the machine and said "well it's twins" and we were shocked. I told myself not to get too excited b/c I thought he was joking, but he wasn't and we were thrilled! I just wondered if anyone else had a similar situation.

I found out at 6 weeks because I was very ill and was afraid something was wrong. I had a miscarriage 3 months prior and the doctor wanted to make sure everything was ok. My husband and I were shocked and very very happy!!

I found out at my first ultrasound at 20 weeks. Two heads just popped up on the screen! :)

I was 11 weeks. I always have an early ultrasound because my first pregnancy was ectopic. My hubby almost passed out with the news as this made #4 & #5!!

My son and my niece constantly told me I was having twins but I always told them there was only 1 heartbeat which means there is only 1 baby. I went for my first ultrasound at 4 1/2 months and we found out we were having twin girls! My doctor never heard 2 heartbeats because they were exact the same beat and in sync with each other!! Needless to say I got "I told you so from my son and niece!" :o)

I was four months along when I found out I was having twins. My first sonogram was when I was 4 weeks and 2 days and it wasn't very clear because I wasn't very far along. It was basically just a conformation of pregnancy. My next sonogram wasn't untill almost 16 weeks and our doctor told us we were having twins. Talk about shocker, two weeks later we found out their sexes.

I was 4 weeks along when I found out it was twins. And I KNEW before I even had an ultrasound. I had a gut feeling and the pregnancy test came out pos WAY too early. With my first pregnancy I was 6 weeks along before the test would come out pos. With the twins the day after I found out I was pregnant I started having cramps. The doc did a vaginal ultrasound and found 2 sacks. Only one had something in it. He said it was too early to really tell if there was a baby in the 2nd one. We went back a week later and we saw 2 heartbeats!!
