How many strollers do you have for your twins? How many is considered as too many?

We had a tandem (front and back) stroller when the girls were little. It was definitely needed for a while, but not used that often. We borrowed 2 umbrella strollers when we went on vacation when they were just a year. We quit using the stroller by 18 months at the latest since we didn't really have a need for it anymore.

Maybe I am biased, but I feel as though I have the perfect solution to your dilemma! I started with the double snap'n go... Which was a life saver for the first 4-5 months. Since then, I have purchased the Baby Jogger City Mini Double stroller. It was the ONLY double stroller that I could fit into the trunk of my 2008 Ford Focus. The tandem ones were too long by about 1.2 a wheel length. Go to www.babyjogger.com and take a look at this stroller (they have a demo video!). It is somewhat umbrella style, as far as weight, and folding ease (I literally bought it JUST based on how it folds.lol), but maneuvers like a dream, has a 5-point harness, and has fantastic sun canopies for each seat, which recline individually with the pull of a drawstring!. It fits through all standard doorways... and as far as travel, I ordered the travel bag, and so I just fold it up, throw it in the bag, put the wheels in their own little tidy spot inside the bag, and there we go... It's all packed up and ready for air or train travel! Seriously I know I sound like a sales pitch. My husband makes fun of the way I talk to other twin mommies about this stroller, but it is a dream! Add the lifetime warranty into the mix, I was sold. I don't see me needing another stroller while my twins are in the stroller stage. Okay, I'll stop now.... Check it out though, as it is something that has made my life much easier!

the snap n go stroller for when they are little and an umbrella stroller for when they are a little bigger. mine are 10 months now and umbrella stroller is perfect for them. i get the one with the shoulder harness bc my twins are crazy and would throw themselves right out in the store! dont worry about getting an in-between stroller. if it has a shoulder harness, the umbrella stroller will work perfectly for 6 months old and up, as long as they can sit relatively fine

My girls are 9 now, but when they were little we only had a tandem (long) stroller, until they were about 18 months, when we bought two umbrella strollers and connectors for them. These were bought for the purpose of my traveling alone with my twins, I didn't want to drag my huge stroller with me, and with luggage it would not have fit in my parents trunk. I wouldn't have minded having a jogging stroller to use to take longer walks in the area we lived in then, there were no sidewalks, and my tandem did not like anything other than smooth surfaces.

We are going to Mexico in January and we are taking 2 umbrella strollers and hooking them together. I've heard from many that that's the best way to travel with them.
We also have the front/back double stroller that the car seats hook into, aka the bus. And I have a metal frame that the car seats hook onto but it's getting harded to maneuver the bigger they get.

I have two. I have a long one where one is front of the other I call it the beast, It is easier to use when you are shopping at the mall or places like like. I also have a side by side and we use that when we are out in big places like Zoo or the Fair. I like having both b/c the long one in crowded places does not work well.

We have a double jogger, a double front/back with reversible front seat, and a double umbrella. Depends on where we are going as to which goes in my trunk. My twins are 20 months and just now starting the "I want to walk" stage.

We have 4 strollers. A Maclaren double, snap n go (that we really never use now, so I guess we could get rid of it), a double jogger, and a single travel system like stroller for when hubby or I only have one baby with us. I totally know what you mean about doubles not working when abroad (we are in stationed in Japan). When we go out into town and have to take the train or subway, we use the single stroller & the bjorn, or just our two bjorns. GL! :)

I started of with Snap and Go, then got a Combi for walks (hated it and sold it). Got MacLaren instead, also for traveling. Then I bought the Mountain Buggy for walks. I sold the Snap and Go when they were 6 months, the Mountain Buggy when they were 2 1/2 and I still have the Maclaren for occasional outings (they just turned 3). We use 2 singles (cheap umbrellas) for traveling to large, busy cities, but other than that we don't use strollers anymore.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts...  Well, at first I was thinking to get a double umbrella stroller but thought about that next year we'll probably be traveling and knowing for sure that it's probably a better idea to get 2 individual umbrella strollers so that my husband and I can each deal with one baby (for the place that we'll be going, I don't think it would accommodate the width of double stroller).  

One of the strollers I am considering has a weight capacity that goes up to 55 lbs. which means if we go to Disneyland in the future even when they are 4 years old, this stroller will still work (when they get tired of walking). Versus if I were to purchase a double umbrella stroller and by the time they are 4,  it might just be too heavy for me to push the stroller with both of them in it at the same time.

I'm not sure how well its going to work if I hook it up with a connector. I'm trying to figure out what is the best solution to narrow down to owning 2 types of strollers and not wasting money to buy too many.

Funny! I think I had a total of 4 strollers the first year! Absolutely agree about the double umbrella - we finally broke down and got it and it was wonderful! Used it specifically for airplane travel and then everywhere in between. I researched a lot and ended up with the Inglesina side by side (don't remember the exact model). Ran it into the GROUND! Great, easy, fit everywhere and LIGHT. Good luck.
