How to get my Twins to sleep?

I have twin boys Christian and Caleb. They sleep in the same room and I have a lot of trouble getting one specific Twin to go to sleep at night CHRISTIAN. He stays up wakes Caleb up. Plays with toys. Last night he went in the kitchen while I was on the treadmill and opened ALL the Bananas up. My husband and I have tried everything. Christian as Been my problem child since before birth I and up to my hair follicles and tired of staying up till Midnight with him. I was able to get him doe by 11pm last night but this is stressful....... any suggestions. I have tried All I know........ :'(

Mine are 3 will be 4 in June and he is to smart for the door thing I had one on the bathroom and he figured it out. Taking toys out the room is no option my home is not that big and the twins share rooms. He does not play with the toys though. When they were 2 I put gates up the ones that screwed in the wall. they were so strong they ripped the gate out the wall and my husband put the screws in the wall studs. I am thinking of putting him in his own room so I can monitor him better. Christian is 3 and talks like he is 5 or 6. He has to know what I am doing at all times or he want sleep. I have tried almost everything I need something new. Thank you for you advice

Remove all toys from the room, and turn the lock on the bedroom door around (temporarily) until he learns that he can't leave the bedroom and he must sleep. I had to get one of those door knob covers to put on the inside of my boys bedroom door. Sounds like yours are older, mine are 2 1/2. I was going crazy trying to keep them in bed once I switched to toddler beds, and that's the only thing that worked. I know to some it sounds horrible, but it worked for me. I just can't trust them yet to wake up on their own and leave their room without getting into trouble. So they have to knock to come out. lol Maybe he will eventually get bored and just go to bed. Or, if he doesn't want to go to sleep and he's old enough to understand, give him something undesirable to do. Make him clean! lol Who knows. Might work.
