My identical girls are/have been opposites from early on as well, but they actually changed places when they were in their early elementary ages. One use to love dresses and princessy things and was the outgoing on, while the other would wear overalls and was my quiet one. Now they are 10 and have traded places. So strange... Love how unique they are and I just have to laugh when people ask if I ever get them confused...NEVER! They are like siblings with the same birthday (they are of course, LOL!) Love being a twin mom to watch the dynamics of the girls!

One of the smartest thing a dad of twins told me when I first had my identical twins is "where they are the same, they are exactly the same...and when they are different, they are completely opposite." I have to say that 20 years later, it is totally true. Celebrate the opportunity to individuate when it happens!

Oh goodness yes! My boys are only three, and they're exact opposites, which is probably good for their relationship. One is loud and boisterous and into everything, and he has an easy time making friends. The other is a quiet, persistant, hard-working guy who loves to flirt with everyone, but he still has a hard time making friends with kids his age.

Our two have been complete opposites right from the start while I was still carrying them, Catherine was the wriggler and used to kick me senseless while Anna was the quiet one the nurses could never find (she gave one a bad scare one day because she couldn't be found) and once they were born they immediately changed and Catherine became the quiet one and Anna is the one up to anything and everything and she makes sure you know she's doing it. I think it's brilliant that my identical girls are so different and this way no-one will be able to dismiss them as just twins, which we've come across a lot of, and will have to acknowledge them as individual people.

I love to watch them and I know it sounds impossible but I knew when I was pregnant that they would be different Abby was calm and Bella was always trying to break a rib LOL as their personalities develop I never tire of how wonderful they are and how awesome it is to watch them growing up, learning, developing together and how differenta nd special they both are :o) you never know what your kids will be like but I think from a young age you can see pretty much what is in store for you :o)

I have identical twin girls too. One is more laid back(quiet) and the other is a take charge kind of girl(talks all the time). They are both prissy and pretty girls. They dont mind dirt yet b/c they have 2 brothers. And they are both pretty bossy at times but I think that comes with being a girl i just have 2 at the same time. LOL!! I love watching them alike or different. I think it is normal. Twins or no twins, any siblings can be different or same.

My twin girls aren't identical but they are so differnet already I can only imagine when they get to be 5 yrs...they are not even 9 months...Abby is laid back and loves to laugh, Bella is a bit of drama queen and very exporatory.

My girls are 18 now and have been night and day from day one. Just remember to identify with the different personalities when communicating with them. There will be times when they do, act, react, want, things the same, but they are still individuals, even though they are twins. One drives a pick up, the other a PT Cruiser. Both like Anime.

Oh yes! My identical girls are like chalk and cheese! Always have been, even before birth Issy was alway wriggling and Lulu only moved when her sister woke her up! When they where newborns Issy was a real sleepy-head and Lulu a greedy-guts! And now they're nearly 6 Issy's loud, bossy with a slight tom-boy side to her and Lulu is very quiet, shy and super-girly!
