my girls shared a crib till they were about 10 months old and then got their own cribs till they were ready for toddler beds and they sleep fine seprate from eachother but every now and then (mainly during storms and what not) they will climb in bed wit hthe other i think its perfectly fine.. i tried to give them their own rooms once before but that was a bad idea lol but they share a room with their own beds and are very happy to be seperate and yet still like to cuddle.. it really all depends on how you feel about it.. when my girls were newborns they had to be right next to eachother to sleep then as they got bigger i put space between them but only enough so they could still reach out and touch the other one..

I did both in the beginning. As their grips were stronger and more intentional I put a crib divider in to separate oxygen wires and tubes. When the first came off oxygen I again gave them naps in a single crib. An older child started to climb in so that was what ended the naps together. They were always in their own cribs. Now that they are in big girl beds they get mad if the other climbs in at night.
I read that it is safe to keep them together until they start to move and role over but was warned that it is easiest to separate them as they get bigger if you do it by 4 months. This is also the age that they suggest to stop having them sleep in the same bed as you if you don't plan to have a shared bed as the baby gets older. I guess the older they get the harder the transition is for the baby. We separated ours at 4.5 or 5 months and the transition went surprisingly smooth.

It's ok until they are able to start rolling and moving around on their own. My boys shared a crib for a few months. Just make sure they are swaddled and comfy! I can't say it helped them sleep better, cause I have great sleepers!
