my boy/girl twins are awesome of course. They are almost five years old. My boy is self sufficient, but my girl twin wants to be coddled. I wake almost every morning with her in my bed. We are lesbian parents. We have a 12 year old daughter as well as the twins, but it is the wee twin girl we are having issues with. Our son will go to bed in his bed and wake up there. My 12 year old (obviously) wakes up in her own bed. Our almost 5 year old daughter sneaks out of WHEREVER she falls asleep (either her bed in the room with her twin brother, or sharing a room with her sister) always ends in the morning in our bed. We are trying SO hard to help her adjust! She often sleeps late because (as we have dubbed her) our night traveler spends so much time at night tryin to find her safe place---she needs sleep. We have woken her at 6AM, and allowed her to also sleep until noon. I am at a loss! I don't want her to feel that we don't care, but we are also at a point where, at five years old, we feel she ought to be okay sleeping with her twin, or our 12 year old daughter. NOTHING is working (not even the couch in front of the TV)!! PLEASE any suggestions! We desire things...and a 5 year old inhibits those things!! HELP!!

I have 3 yr old twins and my one daughter kept coming into our room in the middle of the night. It took a lot of work on our part....every time she came in, one of us had to get up and bring her back to her room...which was sometimes a few times a night. (She was not happy about it either) But after consistency, she got the message and started sleeping in her own bed.

A key tip that I read from a baby book that I did was not to say a word....
she would come in, I would say nothing but carry or walk her back to bed....she sometimes came back 10 minutes later but I would just repeat the process without saying anything.

It is not easy but it worked. Best wishes to you!
