I have twin girls who are turning 2 in less than a week and I need some ideas for birthday presents that are cheap, we are on a very tight budget right now but I want to be able to get my daughters presents and do a party which is becoming very hard to do on a very small budget.

Blocks or Duplos will take them far in creativity and endless play. Crayons and blank paper, dot paints, water colors, play doh, finger paints - all things that need supervision, but fun for them to do at this age and inexpensive. Puzzles that have individual pieces, not interlocking. Books, books, books, - you can find books in really good shape at used book stores. Bath toys are another fun thing.
At this age, have a few friends over, have homeade cupcakes and just let them play. No need to go all out at this age.

My girls got pin-wheels from walmart for $1 each and they LOVE them!! Bubbles are fun and cheap also (a little messy though). I have found that the more $$ I spend on a toy the less they use it..haha. Strange how that happens. Good luck!

Look in thrift stores or yard sales for used toys in good condition. The wonderful thing about this age is your girls have NO CLUE that something is brand new out of a box. Clorox Wipes work wonders :)

When my girls turned 2 we got them one of the two sided art easels so they could share it and got them each a set of crayons and their own paper. With my girls all 3 of their party's was done at my parents home because we have a pool there plus they have other things to do as well. My cousin she makes cakes so she does there birthday cakes for them, it really helps out with the budget when I am throwing their birthday parties. We also just grill hot dogs and hamburgers and we make everything else.

I took my 3 yr old twins to the park, (free), and had pizza from Little Caesars and bottled water. I bought some cupcakes from the grocery store, but it would be cheaper to get a box of $1 cake mix and $2 frosting and make them youself. Invite freinds over and let them play. You can do some games instead of using the playground equipment if your twins are too little for the equipment. Toys...find those push toys with the round balls in them. They "pop" when pushed. My 2 yr olds loved the el cheapo lawn mower, $5 at Wal Mart. Go to Craigslist and find gently used riding toys. Good Luck.
