Hi! I am excited to know that my twins are healthy and growing as they should be. They are approximately 70 percentile growth rate. I am 5 feet at 23rd week. My belly has taken its own merry journey and I am a bit nervous how I'm going to fit two big (for my size) babies. I'd appreciate if other moms with my scenario could share their fun experiences! I want to hear "we have done it, so can you" - a pat in the back! Thanks

how much did you weigh before you got pregnant?

i was 98 pounds before i found out i was pregnant with my boys and at 36 weeks i weighed 153, it was painful being so tiny and caring the weight of not just one but two babies, i was just glad that they weren't really tiny and were really healthy. you can do it tho just always think positive (:

I'm 5'3, my boys were born 36w6days. Both over 5lb (2.4 and 2.6KG). The best advice I had was to take it very, very easy. Keep those babies inside you as long as possble. From behind you couldn't see I was pregnant but I was huge - it was all on front. I was extremely uncomfortable the last month and by choice spent most of my time sitting down as I couldn't do anything else, standing put too much weight on the bottom of my belly. The day they were born I went for a (very short) walk and to the playground with my older son. I am sure that started the labour. If you have other children make sure you are prepared fors someone else to help you with them a lot.

I was 5'2 and 97 lbs when I got pregnant. I gained forty pounds and my boys were 5'13 and 5'8 at 37 weeks and 4 days (planned c-section) At 6 1/2 months pregnant I would hear "any day now honey" from strangers. It is pretty amazing what your body is capable of. I had a good pregnancy but it was hard to walk for very long the last few weeks. I lost more than half the weight in the delivery room. My boys are now 1 1/2 and are in the 50% in height and weight. To this day I look at my boys and the astonishment of having twins never fades. Best of luck to you.

I am 5'2 weight about 110 when i got pregnant. i was never on bed rest, really did not have hardly any problems, exept for really bad swelling (water weight) i was 41 weeks. never went into labor, had a c section because my daughter was breach. my son was born first he was 7.14 daughter was next she was 8.5 both were 19 inches long. every one is shocked when i tell them how much they weight and that i was "over due" with twins. but i am very lucky i had heathy babies!! They are 10 now. good luck!!! twins are the best things in the world!!!!

I am 5 feet even and had twin boys weighing 6 lbs. 7 oz. and 6 lbs. 10 oz. I was huge and uncomfortable. I was out growing clothes as fast as I bought them. I worked up until my dr. sent me to hospital at 34 weeks for c section. My uterus was growing to fast and they were afraid of complications starting. They were also only finding 1 heart beat. One decided to hide plus their hearts were beating in unison so only 1 registered. They are now very healthy 8 year old boys. I survived but it was very hard to walk towards the end and stairs were impossible because I was so big. My dr. said he delivered quads and my uterus was measuring bigger than hers did. I guess they had no where to go. LOL Hang in there.

My Dr. didn't told me to take it easy, the pilates teacher did. She felt like at 6 months pregnant it might not be safe to keep doing it in case I started with early labot. Also I was quite big too, I looked like 9 month pregnant when I was 6. After that, I just walked as much as I could. Also it was summer here so my kancles didn't helped much either, lol.
My Dr. told me to keep doing my every day life as much as I could or feel comfortable with. But by 7 month I was having BH contractions, so I took it easy.
Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy!!

Hi Ianina - thank you so much for your response! I realize forgot to respond to your question from your previous post - we know what we are having - two boys!! I have been doing Yoga and very light cardio (elliptical) and am on 24th week. Did your doctor ask you to take it easy at 24 or you didn't feel too safe to work out? I am quite big already (measuring like a 3rd trim singleton pregnancy), but my doc didn't ask me to take it easy YET. How bog were you at this point?

I did Pilates since I found out I was pregnant untill 24 weeks. I got too big and it was risky to continue doing it.
I did walked a LOT during the entire pregnancy except for the last 2 months or so. Good luck!

I did have a c section because I had already had 2 with my first 2 children. I didn't really do exercises, but I was pretty active with my other 2 kids. It was right before Halloween when my doctor told me to start taking it easy (the boys were born dec. 28, so I had 2 months to go). Honestly I just got so big and uncomfortable that It was hard to get around and I just didn't feel like doing much. Its funny because it seems like women block out the pain of labor & delivery, I kinda feel like I did that with the last 2 months of my pregnancy!! lol Its all kind of a blur!! Like I said before, it is probably the hardest thing I had to do, but I survived and so will you. The reward is so worth everything we have to go through. They are so precious and worth it all.

Hi Whitney: Thank you so much - that's quite helpful info! Did you have a C Section? I have been trying to move as much as I can (although I am already quite big and in my 23rd week) - doing mellow exercises. Were you able to do any of that towards the last few months?

I am 5'1" and carried my boys until 37 weeks. They weighed 6.4 & 6.8.....very very big for twins. I was never put on bedrest just told toward the end to just take it easy. I have 2 older kids so taking it easy wasn't always on option. Just be prepared for the end of your pregnancy. You may not want to hear this, but I was very uncomfortable. The last month for me I didn't even really leave my house. I was so full of baby & I even lost weight at the end because I just couldn't even eat really anything, I had nowhere for it to go. I also got reflux pretty bad. Obviously the pain was so worth it. It doesn't last forever and you get such a great reward at the end of it all. Multiples are such a special thing and we are blessed to get to experience it!! Good luck in your pregnancy and & hope you have happy healthy babies!!

I had a semi-emergency c-section cuz baby B wanted OUT (heart rate went up) and I was only at 6cm.. I went in to be induced already at a 5....

I was put on bedrest (more like couch rest... wasn't restricted to the bed, but not allowed to get up unless absolutely neccessary... bathroom, etc..) at 24 weeks cuz I was having super frequent contractions. By the time I was taken OFF bedrest (36 weeks) my legs were so swollen that I couldn't bend them and couldn't walk up/down stairs w/out help... It was a rough time, for sure, but definitely doable.

Ianina - thank you!
Teresa - Did you give birth vaginally? Why was bed rest prescribed? When did you start having trouble moving around?

Not too sure about BIG twins, but...

I'm just under 4'11" and was 88 pounds when I got pregnant w/ my twin girls. I had to be on bedrest for the last 3 months of pregnancy, but made it to 37 weeks (was induced actually), gained 42 pounds, and my girls were 5lb 4oz and 4lb 11oz and both 18 inches. They turn 10 on Tuesday and come up to right at the bottom of my forehead and are around 65 pounds each. ♥

Hi!! I'm 5'2". I made it to 36 weeks 6 days and had a c-section since Sofia was standing with the cord around her neck. I was a beached whale by 36 weeks. Both babies were 5 lbs at birth, super healthy. Trust me, you can do it.

I had a baby bump by 13 weeks, at 23 weeks I was big and by 36 people was looking at me like I was about to give birth any second. Walking was not much of an option, doing dishes was out of the chores list. I didn't had any bed rest at all, continued doing my every day life like nothing was going on (of course, super slowly, lol)
You are doing a great job!! Congrats on the twins. Do you know what are you having?
