Im in the process of getting the two part injection of steroid shots to help my fraternal twin's lungs develop faster. The Dr. say he knows we are at risk for preterm delivery but he's not placing a date on it. I am 25 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I was wondering if any other moms experienced this and about how long after you got these shots did you actually end up delivering? Also did you leak any clear fluid b4 or after receiving this set of shots that was not amniotic fluid?

I had the 2 part shot at 35 weeks, a week before delivering my twin girls. They were both fine and screaming after delivering. Now they are 19 days old :)

I had the 2 part shots but i was in the hosp because i was in laber and i had my twins at 25 weeks i was 24 weeks when they gave them to me but they just could not stop my laber and i got lucky and had the steroid window

Thanks so much everyone for your comments. After seeing the Dr. yesterday he said we will be lucky to make it to 36 weeks, but because of these shots no matter when they are born their lungs will be well along their way to being fully developed ahead of time. Also my Dr. just told me I have nothing to worry about with the fluid leaking since it's not amniotic. Makes me feel alot better that others had the shots as well and it all sounds positive. Thanks ladies for your input :) Im so glad you all have healthy babies and kids.

I have twin boys (almost 3 years old) that were born at 28 weeks. If it wasn't for the steroid shots, I don't think they would still be here. I received the shots just a few days before they were born. I hope you make it to term, but breath a little easier knowing the shots usually make a BIG difference in the maturity of your precious babies lungs.

I got the 2 part steroid shots at 26 weeks with my fraternal twin boys as we were having a few complications and the Dr's thought it would be a good idea. I had no fluid leak or anything like that. I had my boys at 30 weeks, they are fine now and turning 3 on the 25 June :)

I got a two part steroid injection for my twins when I was 30 weeks pregnant and ended up delivering at 38 weeks! I did not leak any fluids. I think the best thing to do is relax and take care of yourself. Just because the Dr. is taking precautions doesn't mean you'll go into pre-term labor.

Thanks heather, my Dr. said he wanted to give me these two shots now so their lungs will be developed. Yea, I'm not expecting to make it to 37 weeks although it would be nice, and from the sounds of it I probably wont, I just really want healthy baby boys because everything has gone smoothly up to now.

I had a shot to help develop their lungs, but it was only a one part thing. They gave it to me in the hospital when I started having regular contractions at 30 weeks. I delivered healthy twin girls at 34 weeks.
