i have always felt that way Shea, i always put my girl in time out sitting in the same place in the living room with her back to the wall. i only send her to her room when i need a time out, lol. And i always have her apologise for the behaviour, but first i make sure she understands what she did wrong.

I've been told by many Child Therapist's, Time out should not be in the room where they play or sleep. It is punishment. Do you want your children going to sleep at night thinking about being punished? No, their bedroom should be a place of Peace, a safehaven of such. Good luck!

Absolutely! My boys have to say sorry and give a hug if its something small. If its something they did wrong that they definitly new better then I send them to thier room and they are only able to come out when they are ready to apologize. I think you have to start young teaching your kids to own up to the mistakes they make. They have to acknowledge the wrongs they do so they can fix them in the future.

YES!!! Always get them to say sorry. I think saying sorry and a cuddle (if they've hurt someone) has more of an effect than time out so I don't do it, but everyone's different.

If she did something wrong and was put on time out, then i think that she should also have to apologize for what she did wrong. i think if she does that everytime she will get the hint to maybe not do it again. good luck
