Both of my girlies have got the sickness & diarrhoea bug. both of them are off milk completely as it just makes them sick. sophie is reluctant to take on any great amount of fluids but has had quite alot of diarrhoea. Keira has been sick the most even with small bits of banana. any suggestions of what i can give them i think their fedup with plain toast & pasta

Thanks for your tips i made ice lollies yesterday so they should be ready by now & i think i will try the rice today. its just so worrying when you know how serious it can be if they dont take on enough fluids. poor kids every five minutes its like have some more juice more juice lol

I've tried ice blocks and rice. Ice blocks to stop dehydration and the rice seems to slow the bowels down. They've worked for me.

Usually Pediatricians suggest the B.R.A.T. diet. Bananas, rice, apples and toast. If that is not working out, then try clear stuff, easier and the stomach and not so bad if it comes back up either. With my kids we did lots of jello and popsicles until the vomiting was over. If it seems that everything is coming back up then give their tummies a rest for at least a couple hours after they stop vomiting. If everything is coming up then a some time without anything in their stomach can help to settle it down. Right now the liquids are the most important don't want them to get dehydrated, so if they aren't doing well with solid stuff, don't push it, the more they vomit the more liquid they lose, and faster they dehydrate, especially with the diarrhea as well. If they are not drinking much, try some popsicles, and hope they feel better soon. Having sick kids is no fun for anyone.
