I am getting very frustrated with these lil girls and the spoon feeding thing. We have been trying on and off since they were 14 weeks old. I have started again now that they are a lil over five months, and it is no better. I don't know if they... just don't like it, aren't ready for it, aren't happy with what I am giving them, don't like their highchairs, or if I am just not trying at the right time. Suggestions!!Read More

Hi Erin, spoon feeding takes time and you have to stay consistent with it. It also takes time for the babies to adjust. When you first start they will suck on the spoon as if they were still drinking from a bottle, but will eventually learn that its a spoon.

I have twins (a boy & girl) and I have been spoon feeding them since they were a month old, but after about a week of consistent spoon feeding they started going crazy every time my husband and I had a plate of food in front of us because they saw our forks and spoons going in our mouth. It is funny and sad at the same time now because they stair at us and they can not have table food yet. Just stick with it, be consistent, and have patience. Good luck and it will get easier.
