Stages- Crawling, sitting, walking

So, I have been told time and time again to not compare twins to anyone with the stages of development but I am just curious about certain stages..

My kids are 8mo and they like to roll across the floor and love to sit. My daughter leans forward and pushes with her feet from a sitting position but just face plants on the floor. They have no desire yet to try to get on their knees, and I am trying to figure out if I should be worried.. Then again they love to stand and walk in their walkers already so maybe they are gonna skip crawling?!?... I dunno... What about everyone else's twins? How fast/slow did they get to being mobile?.....

I wouldn't worry too much about it -- they will crawl and walk in their own time. My twins (both boys) were early rollers (3 wks (yes, I do mean wks!) and 2 months), early crawlers (4 months and 5 months) and early walkers (9 months and 10 months). There a huge range of "normal". As long as they are progressing in terms of what they can do I wouldn't worry about "when" they do it -- it's not a race!

ditto! My twins turn 1 on Sunday and Hailey started walking at 11 months but Hunter has still not taken an unassisted step. He can cruise very well and get where he wants to by crawling so he is in no rush to walk. His motivation to try to walk comes from watching his sister - everytime Hailey gets up and starts walking, he watches her and then tries himself (and he's getting close). I think he's jealous of the attention she is getting for it :-) I think he'll be walking in about 2-3 weeks just out of sheer competition. It worked that way with crawling too - Hailey crawled at 8 months and Hunter wasn't even close to crawling (not even trying) and then within 2 weeks he was off! just from watching her.
It is hard not to compare but to answer the original question some babies do not crawl at all and some crawl only for a very short time and then start walking.

I have 10 mo old b/g twins and the girl crawled and looks to walk two months or so ahead of my boy. they both can pull themselves up to standing but she can also walk along things where he has more trouble with that. She has also tried to take step away from holding onto something so I bet by one she will walk but she is more determined to get into more trouble than he does. He is content to sit and play where she wont. Sometimes I think he only learned to crawl cause he was tired of her stealing his toys LOL. Before either crawled they did this army crawl thing just pulling themselves along the floor with thier arms and that was at about 5 months or so. I say to be happy they are content and not so mobile yet cause once they are its alot more to keep up with! ;)

My twins are almost 7 months old. They started crawling and sitting up around 5 months. neither has showed any desire in walking but love to crawl. i agree with Monica it all depends on how motivated they are to get from point a to point b. give them time. i know twins that didn't start walking until 13 months or so.

My twins started crawling at 9 months, one twin started to walk at 10 months, the other at 12 months. It kind of depends how determined they are to get from point A to B. My oldest daughter crawled at 9 months and walked at 12 months.

I don't think whether you have twins or not, all babies develop their mobility usually between 8 months and 16 months.
