my twins are 4 months old and i try to make time in the day for at least a little tummy time but they dont like it. they both can hold their heads up and everything they just dont like to be on their bellies. my daughter gets lazy about it and will just lay there most of the time, and my son likes it for a little while but after about 5 minutes they are both very pissed off. i put toys around them and i lay down and try to play with them but they dont like it either way... im worried that they will be behind when it comes to crawling.

Hi, I understand how you feel, I have 4 month old twins that were premature and one of them will just lay there and cry and the other one will just lay there and kind of sleep. Have you figured out anything to make it more comfertable for them?

My boys were the same way! I got two boppy's at my baby shower and I put them on their belly on the boppys and they seamed to like that better. They also stated to hold their head up faster. Good luck! Oh. look into a bumbo... my kids were sitting up on their own after a week sitting in that thing! (pluss I took those everywhere I went and used them as a high chair, best thing ever!)

I think 4-5 minutes on their belly is enough for their age. As in most of these processes-they'll do what they do, when they are ready! keep encouraging them with toys, in front of them and to the side of their heads, shoulders

mine were the same way. to get them to crawl we stacked blocks in front of them and all they wanted to do was knock them over. they started enjoying tummy time more. and the cat helped too with the crawling. one of mine started chasing the cat and crawling. whatever it takes. they wont be 4 months forever. some take longer than others. i agree with the pillow too. the support is nice.

mine are 6 months and they were both like that. they got used to it tho. my little boy still wont stay on his tummy for long but he will long enough i think. i just believe in letting them do what the want--- in a way--- they will be ok. i dont think my little girl will enen crawl i think she may just start walking. dont know yet... i wouldnt stress tho. they will get better... :)

all babies (just about) hate tummy time at first. Just put them there for a few minutes at a time and do it a couple times a day if you can and then gradually increase the amount of time. Eventually (and probably not very long either) they will learn to love the tummy time. They get a little stronger and realize they can do more on their bellies than on their' back. Mine also hated tummy time and I only put them like that for a few minutes a day. My girl at 4 months was able to roll over and once she did that, she would start rolling herself over onto her tummy. My boy didn't roll until late though (about 6 months) but they always had the same amount of tummy time so sometimes it doesn't really matter, they will just do what they wanna do when they wanna do it

Have you tried a tummy pillow? I was having the same situation with my twins (currently 3 1/2 months old) and I started putting my nursing pillow under them. It just gives enough support for them to see more when they lift their heads, and they don't get tired so fast. After about a month of using it, they're pretty okay with being flat on their tummies. They're turning into little inchworms, my son can roll himself over when he's done, and my daughter actually enjoys it (she used to just scream on her belly).

I have a Jolly Jumper pillow - its a little big, but I can put one monster on either side so they can see each other without banging heads.
