I got a sheet cake from Albertsons and they give you a free individual cake for their 1st b-day, I explained I had twins and they gave me two individual cakes...I also had my friend and family sing idividually to each child. Celyn was born first by a minute so she was first and then Avery was sung to next...It is totally worth it to see the look on their face when it is their name. I will do it this way for the rest of their birthdays

One party was special! Our local supermarket has a birthday cake club, you get a small free birthday cake for each child. We had two small cakes, one for each twin and then a "combo" theme cake for the guests. There aren't too many "twin" themed birthday partyware out there, so we ended up going with a Baby Einstein 1st Birthday theme and for the guys 2nd birthday we went with Mickey Mouse-what they love! Definitely plan the party around their naps, whether it's a brunch or early/later in the afternoon party. We had their first party at a park, less clean up and stuff fell on the floor (which it will), no biggie on the mess! Enjoy the planning and let us know how it turns out!

Thank you so much for all the wonderful ideas I will take alot of those great ideas when it comes to the Twins birthday party. I agree, the babies are still small and won't enjoy as much as the other years to come. I will definetly try somethings. Thanks again all.

i'd recommend keeping it kind of short, cause they get tired quickly. Also, plan mostly for your guests, because the twins won't remember this party at all. :) for my last kidlet's 1st birthday, the dad's played basketball, the mom's talked and I planned a treasure hunt for the older siblings(kindergarten age). I made the birthday cakes, one for everyone, and one for the birthday girl. :) A friend who makes professional cakes helped me a ton. so it was great fun. I made yummy food and we had cake. and that was it. 3 hours at most and we were done by naptime in the afternoon.
oh, and we did the traditional Korean baby game. :) you know, pick an item, it predicts their future.... :) The twins picked pencils---so good students. My singleton picked the yarn---so long life. :) We'll see if that's true. :)

I know this is really long, but just read it bc my twins' bday was last week and I took in a lot of ideas from a lot of friends and it went great! Good tips below!

Cakes: a lot of grocery stores will give you their 1-year old bday cakes for free, someimtes you have to buy their MAIN cake (for the adults/other children) but then you get theirs (smaller individual sizes) for free. I would ask bc that is really special sometimes. Goddie bags: I would check out the dollar section at Target, stickers, pencils, notepads, bouncy balls, all kinds of things like that you can usually find there, especially around a holiday. Maybe around Easter or July 4th you will be able to start collecting things for really cheap. Of course, you can always fill with candies too, but I had a lot of little kids at my twins' 1 st bday (last week- the 10th) so I didn't wanna send candy-crazed kids home with parents so I put a small pack of m&m's in each of their bags and that was all the candy they got. The rest I just collected things. The dollar store is good too. Since they are just kids, it's not like you have to put such nice things in there. Just little gadget toys are good, and so cheap! For food, I did chili dogs/corn dogs. We didn't have much money to put into the party but wanted it to still be nice so we went to Costco and got the big box of corn dogs (28 dogs for like $8.00) and that was for the kids and then we got hot dogs, onions, cheese, ketchup, mustard and buns that all together cost like...I don't know...maybe about $30.00, then I asked my mom if she would make a pot of chili bc she makes really good chili and my mother-in-law (wanting to help out too as these are her only grandbabies) got tortilla chips and salsa. That was the entire menu. Cheap but everyone enjoyed it. For those who don't like hot dogs (like me) we just had a bowl of chili. The one party was great but a mistake that I made that I will let you know so hopefully you can figure a better way to do it, was: I had my daughter opening gifts with her and her cake also while my son was with my husband doing the same thing at the same time. We were sitting right next to each other but bc I was helping my daughter, I missed alot of what my son was doing. Maybe if you switch back and forth with the gifts so they each get their moment it would be better. I luckily have it all on video but it's not the same as having seen it right there. Also, since I have b/g It was hard picking a theme so I did just colors and bubbles. I bought a few cheap cool bubble toys and for games I didn't wanna spend time on them bc my babies were still too little to play so I just blew up like 50 balloons and had numbers on each of them. Throughout the party I would draw a number (or just call one out) and the first kid to find and bring me the balloon with that number one the bubble prize. (they pretty much all won something- the prizes were anywhere from 25 cents to $2.00) that was all we did for games though and all the kids had fun playing with the balloons in between time

For my girls 1st b-day party I had a small party at home in between their naps. I didn't want chaos so we invited only close family and it lasted 1 1/2 hrs. It wasn't worth me wearing myself or them out-they were on a great schedule(they love to sleep) and I didn't want to interfere with it. I did a cake to match their invites and had themed tablecloth and plates. I didn't do goodie bags or decorations(other than the table). Just keep in mind that there will be other parties-that they will actually remember-to do all the big stuff.

One was easy! and you have the same sex! games aren't really important unless you have a lot of relatives that have younger kids. I only did goodie bags (play-doh, candy) tied to a balloon for them to take home.Depends on time of day for the food. Keep it light either way. Just remember to take pics of them digging into the cake. Separate cupcakes or smaller cakes is cute. I didn't do that and I wish I would have. They each got a piece and looked at it. Either way keep it simple and relax! There are many more to come that will put your creative skills to the test! Enjoy the time with them and the family and friends. I cried at my kids party! The year went so fast and they learned to do so much! Good luck! Let us know what you decide:)
