I'm 36 weeks and 1 day, I went into preterm labor at just under 34 weeks and we were just released from the hospital yesterday.

I'm posting this because I am curious how far you all made it, we were taken off of medication to slow the contractions (Nefedipine) and I feel like it's going to be anytime now.

I'm also interested in hearing about the birth experience, I don't know anyone who has had twins and I'd like to hear what everyone went through (good and bad, don't worry I'm not easily scared!).

My girls are both vertex and we are planning a vaginal birth, I understand this can change at any point and that sometimes women deliver the first vaginally and then have a cesarean for the second due to some acrobatic feats -but we're sure going to try! Thanks ahead of time for sharing your stories :)

My boys were born at 36.3 weeks. That was after preterm labor and bedrest etc. started at 27 weeks. I had the lovely magnesium therapy at, I guess the end of 34 weeks. They had both presented head down through the whole pregnancy until the last week. We ended up with a c-section... and I am soo glad. We didn't know it until they were being delivered, but the cords were tangled. Timmy had a bit of trouble at birth, but nothing truly serious. Scared my hubby though. And of course I knew nothing about it for a few days. They came home with me, and were fine.

My B/G twins were born at 26.3 wks. We had to use a surrogate, and when they were born so early, it was like a whirlwind! I was so scared for their safety and survival, not to mention that it took so long for us to actually have babies, we hadn't made any arrangements for them to come home. We had planned to have them delivered in the state we live in, but they ended up being born in another state, so the legal side of things had to quickly be started from scratch. So, needless to say, I didn't even think to ask WHY they were born so early. I just wanted to make sure I was doing everything I could for my babies.

My grandmother is the only person I knew who had twins, but she passed long before my babies were born, so I didn't really have anyone to go to for advice. They were my first. People would ask me how I did it with two, but I guess I just did what had to be done. I don't remember much of their first 18 months, but I can say that I wouldn't have it any other way.

I gave birth vaginally at 37 weeks 3 days. I was induced. My experience wasnt so bad but it´s true that, with time, you forget (my LOs are 18 months old)!

Basically, for me, the meds to induce me didn´t work so the OB broke my waters. I was already 2cm dilated when I went into hospital so it helped that my body was ready to go. I had contractions immediately. After 2 hours I was taken to the delivery room and given the epidural. I was 6cm dilated. I then dilated to 10cm really quickly and before I knew it was being told to push. My son was born first with the help of a ventouse (which they didnt tell me they were using and it was uncomfortable). My daughter then turned breech and was born feet first. Her head got stuck but with forceps she came out. I was exhausted and couldnt push anymore so the pedi was pressing down on my stomach to help push my daughter out and after some tense minutes she was born. I was given an episotomy but it wasn´t anything major and I had no tearing. I had to go back to the OB a week later so he could remove the stitches as they didn´t all fall out and it was very painful to sit down, etc. I healed quickly and was given the all clear at my 6 week post-partum check up.

I had told my doctor that I didnt want a vaginal birth then a c-section and was so pleased to deliver both vaginally. In Spain, where I live, if you´re over 35 then you automatically get a c-section. I was lucky to be 32 when I had my twins.

Good luck and I´m sure you´ll do great!

I had my girls at 35 weeks. I had an ultrasound six days before they were due and they said everything was fine and they would see me back at the next appointment..When my water broke the next week I wasnt sure what I was because this was my first pregnancy and it was not like a big gush but a little trick. That was around 7 am I finally went to the doctor around 3 15 because of back and hip pain. I wasnt really having any stomach contractions but my doctor suggested I come in and be looked at any way. When I got there I was dialted to 6 and they took me back for an emergency C section since baby B was breech and I had a cyst that needed to be removed. They were born at 4:07 and 4:08. Baby A, Kayse Elizabeth weighed in at 4 lbs and 8 oz and was 17 inches long. Baby B, Kylee Rebecca weighed 4lbs 9 oz and was 17.5 inches long. We had to spend a week in the NICU but other than that I have two healthy little girls who will be 3 soon! Good luck!

hiya courtney! i went into labour at 33 wks 6days.i stayed at home for 14hrs as i wasnt sure if it was braxton hicks or the real thing.the pain got worse so i went to the hospital and i found out i was 6cm dilated.i was so relieved as i was half way there.i had back labour and it was beginning to feel like my spine was goin to snap so i used gas and air.this helped for a while but 6hrs before i gave birth i asked for pethidine. it was so good. i was havin contractions and didnt feel a thing. i slept for 2hrs. they asked if i wanted an epidural but i said no.i wanted these girls naturally. they put some of the drugs in to speed up the labour and before i knew it they were askin me to push. it all happened so quickly. lexi was born first and 6mins later amber was born. the pain stopped immediately. it was an amazing and surreal experience. i didnt need any stitches so i was really lucky. the girls both weighed 3lb 14oz. good luck with your labour.i hope urs was as smooth runnin as mine :)

I had my twin girls at 37+1. I went to the hospital for a check up cause mydischarge changed colour only to be rushed to delivery suite because I was 6cm dilated. I didnt even know I was in labour! Not long after though I started having my contractions. I had the epidural because they said sometimes the second twin needs help getting out. I was close to have a section because i wouldnt dilate past 8cm but just when they were about to take me down I went to 10 haha. The first twin (Summer) was back to back with me caused me so much pain in pregnancy and delivery so she need to be turned around with forceps. However my secondtwin (Jade) came out brilliantly 10 mins later. I did lose alot of blood (which I saw splatter all over the doctors face!) and had VERY high blood pressure in labour but was fine a few hours later. Summer was 5.11 and Jade 5.05. Jade had to go into special care to 2 days because he sugar levels were down and she couldnt control her temp but other than that both fine and verynoisy baby girls. Good luck

i gave birth to my twin boys at 34weeks but i did have to go into hospital at 29weeks because i was bleeding and had dilated 2cm so was givin steriods to help their lungs. was discharged 4 days later. My water broke at 2:10am woke my husband to let him know then thought this is my first pregnancy ill have a good few hours before i need to go to the hospital so went and had a bath try to relax, i had no contractions then wanted to push so climbed out the bath and woke my hubby to tell him that i was pushing and that we needed to go to hospital. We got to the hospital at 5:10am, i was planning on having pethadine but because the head was crowning i couldnt have anything, both babies were head down but knew there was a chance that the second one could move because of all the exra room. Jack arrived at 5:30 weighting 4lb 4oz and aiden was born ten mins later weighting 3lb 11oz. Jack could stay with me but because aiden was under 4lb he has to be put in the special baby care unit, he was in there not 24hrs when they let him come onto the anti natal unit with me and his brother. We were discharged 4 days after they were born and the staff at the hospital were really surprised at how well they did and couldnt belive babies born at that weight could be well enough to be allowed home. Both of my boys are doing great, my labour was easy i thought so im one of the lucky one (didnt tear lol) i was up and walking about 10 mins after i gave birth. x

I had my twins at 38 weeks. They were just perfect. My lil boy weighed 6lbs 15oz. And my lil girl weighed 4lbs 15oz.

Funny story is: I was scheduled to have a c-section on Thursday, Dec 29!! Wednesday morning, I got up...was doing my normal daily things. Spoke to the hospital about my c-section about 11 am. They told me to be at the hospital at 5 am, the next morning. Then went to the doctor for an ultrasound about 2:30 or 3:00 pm. Everything seemed fine, except that I was feeling a lil wierd. lol We went and ate at Wendy's after the appointment, still feeling wierd, I had chili. We went home and I laid down on the couch, because I was in EXTREME pain. This was about 4 or 4:30pm. False labor, right? NO!!! By the time I made it to the hospital, it was around 6:15pm. They checked me when I got to the OB dept. and I was dilated to 10, and the lil boy's head was crowning! It happened that fast! Within just a few hours. And my lovely lil twins were born at 6:46 & 6:49, via c-section. Less than 12 hours before my scheduled delivery time. And I was only in labor for a few hours too. Lucky me. Hope your delivery is as good as mine was. :)

I had my twins almost 4 yrs ago now. My daughters water broke at 32 1/2 weeks, my son was still in tact! I was on bed rest for 11 days and then finally after the doctor checked me and my progress that was when I went into labour. They told me I needed an Epidural which I did not want but just in case of any problems, being 7 weeks premature, they needed to cover all bases. My daughter was born natural after 2 or 3 pushes and she weighed 3'6 and they broke my sons water thinking he would follow suit, but NO! They monitored him closely and even tried getting him out but still NO! Needless to say he was born 1 hr and 32 minutes later by C-Section weighing 4'4. I was up walking after my C-Section in a few hours as nothing stopped me from seeing the kids in the NICU so don't let people scare you about a C, they are not as bad as some people seem.

Kids were 1 Month exactly in the hospital and all is well now, thank goodness. Hind sight the doctors were telling me that because my son was comfortable and not wanting to come out even by C-Section they would have left him in and not broken his water. That making my twins born on different days or possibly different months but they didn't so they do indeed share the same birthday. Good luck with your birth :0) If you are looking at getting a breast pump as well, check at the local Health Unit, I got one to borrow for free since I had twins and only needed the attachment kit. Why invest in a breast pump if you don't need too. My twins were unable to breast feed due to their size and being in the NICU for 1 month exactly, they were started on feeding tubes and then straight to bottles. Guess it worked out for the best seeing my husband was able to bond with them as well giving them their bottles instead of not helping with the feeding like most breast fed babies.

I now have 6 month old identical twin boys.

They were IVF babies and do to previous complications with pregnancies, I was at the doctors every week to everyother week since I found out we were having twins (6 weeks pregnant)

My boys were delivered at 36 weeks, naturally. I was 3-4 cm dialated for a week previous so on my last appoinment I was told to go to the hospital to be induced.(they would have induced me anyway at 37 weeks). I was at the hospital May 13, 2009 at 3pm, in a labour & delivery room at 8pm. My doctor broke my water at 8:30pm, I walked the halls for about 30min until I was in too much discomfort.

Checked then and I was 8 cm. Doctor gave me an unsuccessful epideral when I was 9 cm. I pushed for 1hr and 2minutes (for both) and at 12:12am on May 14, 2009 Hudson was born weighing 5lbs14oz at 18.5inches and at 12:22am Keatom was born weighing 5lbs10oz and 17 & 3/4 inches.

Finally after many losses and upsets not too mention 7 years of trying we now have our beautiful twin boys! Congrats with your pregnancy and the birth, it will be a mazing!

I had my twins at 36 weeks and 2 days and truly it was a great experience. I was able to deliver vaginally and luckly everything went smooth. I was in labor for about 18 hours before pushing and it only took about an hour total before I was back in my room.

I had my boys natural aswell and am so glad i did not have a c section because everyone i know who has had 1 takes way longer to heal. I gave birth at 38 weeks 5 days and it was easier than having a single birth hehe, they weighed 6.1lb and 6.8lbs 39 minutes apart due to baby a kicking on his way out haha little monkey and still giving trouble at age 6 now. I was in labour for about an hour and half woke up at 5:30am and had baby Thomas as 6:14am just made it to the hospital, so i consider myself to be very lucky.
Good luck and hope all is well..

I had my twin boys 3 and half months ago. I was induced at 35 weeks and 5 days due to preeclampsia. I had them vaginally I was in labor for 10 hours and it took me an hour to push for both of them. I got an epidural but I have scoliosis so at the end I felt everything. They were 16 min apart, Hayden was born at 8:03 pm he was 18.5 inches long and weighed 5 lbs and 3 oz, his brother Tristan was born at 8:19 pm and was 17.75 inches long and weighes 4lbs and 12 oz. I had them in the OR a precaution if baby b's heart rate didn't cooperate or other things went wrong then they could due a c-section right there. Make you sure you rest as much as possible you will need all you strength it will help you out so much in the delivery room. I was very lucky and my doctors said they hadn't seen a twin birth that fast in a while. It will all be worth it when you see them. Another thing you won't see you first baby that long they try to hurry up and get them out of the way so the can focus on the second baby. They had some problems when they were born. They weren't maintaining their body temperature, they wouldn't eat, and they were jaundice. They were in the NICU for 7 days. They were under a warmer and on feeding tubes for 4 days. They are growing fast and eating so much now. The NICU takes very good care of your babies so don't worry if they have to go in there.

Well, we went 27 weeks and 3 days. My water broke on May 12 th, I was in labor for 4 days while they tried to stop/slow them from coming out! They gave them 2 steroid shots for their lungs to develop faster. They were born May 16th 2009. They were in the NICU for 3 months, at 2 different hospitals at one point. I had complications after the c section and was in the hospital almost a month including the 4 days before they were born. The good news about this is- you are so past the serious concerns and have already done a great job taking care of them! Our boys are home and healthy now, and we are finally able to have them home longer then they were in the NICU. I had to do a c-section but If I had a choice knowing now what it was like I would avoid it at all possible. I think you are already so prepared mentally that it will be a breeze for you. All you need ready are car seats and crib (diapers, wipes, bottles or a pump too) and you are all ready. Good luck, keep us posted

I have boy/girl twins. I made it to 34 weeks. Went in to the hospital at 10:00 on a Wednesday morning. Both were head down. They attempted to stop my labor with drugs but only succeeded to slow it down. At six the next morning, I was at a six so I politely suggested that we get the show on the road. So, with a little pitocin and an epidural we went in to deliver just before noon. Delivered the boy naturally and the girl decided to turn to breech. They asked if I would like a c-section and I (not so politely) declined. So, she was born 11 minutes after him, feet first. They spent 9 days in the special care but did not have to go to NICU. He was breathing a little too fast and they both had problems learning how to eat. He weighed 4 lbs. 13 ounces and she weighed 5 lbs 2 ounces. They are seven now and have never had any problems. Listen to the docs but don't let them force you into a c-section. I was lucky, though, that they are not my first children. They were number five and six so I knew I could do it breech or not. Good luck and enjoy your girls!!

i went in to preterm labor at 29weeks with my twins, Though i didnt know it, luckily i was forced to go to the hospital by my partner because i was throwing up blood, and the nurses realised just before the doctor had let me go home. They gave me drugs to stop it, (honestly now i cant remember what it was) and i was admitted and transferred to another hospital. It took 5 days for the doctors to be happy that it stopped, about to let me go home, when i developed pancreatitis! - as well as the contractions starting up again ontop of that, Yet another hospital transfer (one where that was ICU - for me and the bubs) and 12 hours after being admitted there, i developed Pre-eclampsia! Well from that point on the doctors didnt wanna stop anything and decided to do an emergency c-sect 12 hours later, where i was unfortunatley knocked out for. My Babies where born 31 weeks. Luckily they had given me steroid shots when the found out i had the original conntractions, so their lungs were fairly healthy, and they were on oxygen for only a day at the most, drips in thir arms for a couple of days, and tube fed for about 3 1/2 weeks. I was so lucky to have them home at 5 weeks old! now 3 1/2 yrs later - they are thriving!!

my b/g were delivered at 36 weeks, 5 days. they were also both vertex but i had already decided on c-sec. it was scheduled for the week after they were born but i began having contractions, nothing that hurt but they were exactly 2 minutes apart so i was told to come in. once i got to the hospital i had not dilated at all but they were still conisistent even though they still did not hurt at all. after about 2 hours monitoring, i dilated to 1 cm and they determined it was active labor so they prepared me for the c-sec and they were both born 1 minute apart within about 20 minutes of being taken into the O.R. ...my only kids but I would say the easiest delivery I ever heard of! bless them for being good to me :)

I had my twins on Christmas Eve 1996 boy/girl I was due at the end of January, and like you went into preterm labor. I was in the hospital for Thanksgiving, for 4 days. I went home and they put me on Tribudiline(spelling) I wanted to have them natural...I didnt want any drugs to effect my children. After I gave birth to the first one(boy) I was so relieved...until teh doctor asked me if I was ready for the next one. I looked at him as though he was crazy...I totally forgot about having to push another one out...lol very funny, but true. I told him I couldnt do it, he said that was fine, that he was there all night, but thought I would rather get it over with. I only wish they would have held hands on the way out...lol The overall experience for me was pure amazement!!! Twins are so totally amazing. They really do have their own launguage!!! I have a total of 5 children and love them all so very much. You have been blessed with the gift of twins...keep me informed and good luck to you. Anymore questions...just ask.

Hi I had twin girls 2 months ago, I carried them at 37 weeks and 2 days. It was a planned C section, because in my country Malta, obstetricians don't take risks in trying natural birth. In my case it could have been much more risky as I had a previous C section 5 years ago and the twins were breech. Had a spinal block as anaestesia.

My girls were 3kgs each and were perfectly healthy. Were given to me straight away and 3 days later we went home. it was a marvellous experience

wish you luck

i had my twin boys at 33 weeks. i had an emergency c-section because twin A has congestional heart disease & they were also diagnosed with Twin to Twin Transfusion. i was scheduled to be admitted for a few weeks to monitor twin A's heart. needless to say i arrived @ noon on 2/5/09 & Twin A was deliverd at 5:48 pm Twin B at 6pm. it was by far a scary situation because i was kept in the dark about the c-section untill the anesthesiologist let it slip. not to mention i was alone in the hospital untill 5 pm when my mother-in-law arrived. but by 5:20 everyone was there thankfully because the surgens didnt want to wait any longer.
Twin A was 2 lb. 7 oz. & B was 4 lb. 14 oz.!!! they are both doing great now. Jason has had 2 heart surgical procedures & is strting to gain lbs better now!!!

I had my twin girls at 37 weeks and 4 days. I had a C-Section because Twin B's umbilical cord was growing through her membrane. Had she been born vaginally, she could have bled to death...not a risk we were willing take!! I never went into labor, they were just big enough to deliver, so the doctor picked a date! May 11th is when they arrived at 5 lb. 13 oz. and 5 lb. 11 oz. They are the most wonderful people I have ever met...or created!!! :0) The birthing process was great, I never had any complications, and the hospital we delivered in Portland, OR was AMAZING!!! All around a great experience!!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and your home birth! I was originally planning a home birth until I found out I was having twins at 9 weeks, at which point I decided I was not brave enough to do this with twins. One is still about 3 pounds smaller than the other. The hardest part for me was leaving them in the NICU when I went home. Good luck!

I was 35 weeks and 2 days, my boys wanted to come into this world with a bang......and so they did. As I was getting ready to start the dishwasher, my water broke and when it did, I felt something come out. I was in panic mode and told my husband we needed to get to the hospital ASAP. He wanted to look at what came out but I didn't want him to, I just wanted to get to the hospital. Luckily we live 5 minutes from the hospital and was up there in no time. When we arrived, no one was around, it was 10pm. Finally a nurse came to the rescue and I told her I felt something down there.....when she looked, she immediately rang the alarm and announced CODE BLUE. The umbilical cord was hanging out...which in medical terms is called a Prolapse Cord. I was rushed into the emergency room faster than a speeding bullet and the boys were born within 10 minutes @ 10:20pm and 10:21pm. I was put to sleep and wasn't able to experience the birth of my boys and neither was my husband. They were both put into NICU and were doing great. After I woke from my c-section, I begged to go see them. The nurses made that possible. I didn't actually get to hold them until 21 hours later. It was the most amazing feeling I've ever experienced in my life. I knew right then that these were my babies. Today, they are thriving and healthy!

i was induced at 36 weeks because i developed pre-eclampsia. both my boys were head down and born vaginally, both weighing 2.8kgs. i was given gels to open cervix at midday on the monday with no result. my waters broke spontaneously at 2am on the tuesday.... horribly long day. had the epidural at about 11am, boys were born around 4pm. honestly i dont remember much of the day as i was really sick but i do know that i was well and truly over that pregnancy, the sleepness nights and constant backpains! yuck! my boys were big enough and strong enough to be induced early however we stayed in hospital for a further 3 weeks because i developed eclampsia so its was a very long month all in all. try and enjoy the day, take photos, be calm, it'll be over soon and you'll have two beautiful babies to love and care for. i didnt invite alot of visitors after the birth, take your time to rest. there is plenty of time for them to come over when your home and help out/ my boys are 3 months today so feel free to ask any questions, most things are still fresh in my mind.

I was 2cm dilated at 36+5 weeks, the obstetrician got me in the next day and put me on a drip to start off the contractions. Both babies were head down and I was all set for a natural birth. I had an epidural line put in ready incase I needed pain relief. From the time that my waters broke, I laboured 4 hours, my contractions were all over the place not consistent at all, so we all thought I still had a ways to go. All of a sudden twin 1 head came down into the birth canal, I screamed for drugs but was told it was too late for that I had to push!! I pushed out twin 1, then 10 minutes later pushed out twin 2 all I had for pain relief were heat packs, my eyes watered a bit I can tell you!! But on the other side of things I was sooo proud of myself for doing it drug free and I had piece of mind that my babies were not affected by any sort of drugs. Both babies came out breathing well on their own and went straight onto the breast. They were a little on the light side at 4lb13 and 4lb14, so had a little trouble establishing feeds. They had to spend 7 days in special care, whilst we established feeding, other than that they were perfectly healthy and I had a speedy recovery, a most satisfying birth experience :-)

Well, everyone is different. I had mine at 33 wks obviously preterm. I have a boy and a girl. My son came out doing ok, he was on O2 for about a hour. Then he became a grower and feeder. My daughter didn't do well. She had breathing problems. Her lungs were underdeveloped. She was sent to another hospital that could handle premmies. The good news was that I delivered them both vaginally. What some people don't realize is that you have to experience labor twice and some go really fast and some peter out. It's an experience you'll never forget. I was in my early twenties and very nieve. However, I did spend a month in the hospital because of preterm labor. I was admitted at 29 wks and delivered 4 wks later. They held me off for that long until my bag of waters ruptured. I was blessed because I worked at this hospital, so the nurses took care of me as if I was their daughter.

I went into labor at 29 weeks. I was hospitalized and put on complete bed rest, which I hated at the time( if only I would have taken advantage of the time to relax!) I was allowed to go home after 1 week and managed to make it 3 more weeks after that.

I was put on mag sulfate and turbetline (sp?) to stop contractions.

I delivered at 33weeks, vaginally. They were almost an hour apart. After baby A was born my body thought I was done and I had to be given pitocon to deliver baby B. The girls remained in the hospital for about 10 days and then we got to bring them home.

My twins were born at 34 weeks and i had a really rough pregnancy so naturally i was worried about labour. i went to the doctors office for my regular checkup and he said he was going to send me to the hospital for enforced bedrest, when i got to the hospital my blood pressure had spiked and it turns out i had toxemia so they induced me. almost the entire time i was in labour my husband couldnt stop laughing... i was asleep almost the entire time. i was stressing out so much the night before about the checkup and just wanting the twins out of me because i was in constant pain that as soon as i was told it was happening i fell asleep. the nurses had to wake me up and hold my head up so i could push then when the contraction passed they would put my head back down and i was out like a light. i delivered vaginally almost in the hallway lol. there were 3 sets of twins born in that hospital that night so the OR was in use... i was first in line though. twin a was crowning when i was finally let in the OR. for me the most painfull part was being stitched back up afterwards. and even though my twins were premies they weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces each. today they are almost 9 months and are already saying mama, dada, and baba. and they are trying to walk its amazing how fast they grow up.

I was induced at 38 weeks and had a vacuum delivery. They were my first children and I had an epidural. It was a long and tiring labour, by the time they came out I could barely focus my eyes to clearly see them, and then I vomited.

Nevertheless, it was not a bad experience. Recovery was probably worse (so much mess down there...really, it isn't right we women cop that part of it).

Due to my experience with that first labour my subsequent two labours (I have 4 children) were vaginal and drug free, but only because this is what suited me. I did not like the interference and effects of being induced and the epidural and decided to put up with labour pains and have a more comfortable recovery. BUT that is my experience. My suggestion would be to trust your gut, do what you think you will be most comfortable and happiest with, not what someone else thinks as it is only you that is feeling it (and the babies of course). The same advice goes for breastfeeding/bottle feeding, sleeping, etc.

Delivering twins can be daunting, but the days after can be overwhelming, physically, emotionally and mentally. Eat and drink plenty, get rest EVERY time it is available and again trust yourself, they are your children. Don't be alarmed at being emotional (be aware of baby blues on day 3 for example), don't be afraid to tell people NOT to visit as you may be tired. If you do breastfeed it is physically draining so have food and water at hand, but it can be long and boring (you bond, yes, but if they feed for an hour you need some mental stimulus) have magazines and books handy. I got addicted to crosswords and puzzles during this time (hey, it kept me awake).

Best wishes and enjoy your girls. It is the most special time.

HI, i had my twin girls naturally when i was 21 years old... i pushed the first baby out very easily but then the second baby turned prosterior position, it was utter agony, they wanted me to keep pushing but i couldn't so an hour later they got the second twin out by forceps, even though at the time it was one of the most exhausting painful times, i am so proud to say i gave birth naturally to twins

I went until 37 weeks even after 2 episodes of premature labor. I did not have to go on any medications. I had to have a C section because I had one with my first child. My twins weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and 6lbs 9oz. My biggest one had to spend 1 day in NICU because he took a large gulp of amniotic fluid before delivery. I breast fed them both for 10 months. They are now 9 yrs old.

My twin birth was 1 minute apart I was not dialating so the MD had to do a c-section.

I was thrity -five weeks and six days when I gave birth to my twins. My son was born natural and my daughter via c-section. I drove myself to the hospital after my water broke at home and delivered my son eight hours later. My birth experience was unique because my husband was deployed and the naval hospital was not capable for handling children under 36 weeks. So I was ambulanced to Everret WA, to give birth. The hardest part for me was being surrounded by strangers but as long as you have a humor and relax you will be fine. I never took breathing classes or baby and me. My son/ daughter was born with no complications and only in the hospital a few days.

I was on bedrest from 24-36 weeks (no meds). Then I was off bedrest, but my legs were so swollen that moving was extremely difficult anyway. At 37 weeks exactly I was induced for a variety of reasons including being 5cm dialated already. I never went into 'real' labor. Baby 'B' became slightly distressed, so they did a semi-emergency c-section. Even though I was disappointed to not be able to try vaginally it ended up being a good thing since baby B was stuck in my ribs and the doc literally had to 'jump' on me to dislodge her!

I had my girls at 32+3 weeks they were took straight to special care, although they did not need any help feeding, breathing etc - they were only in 10 days both born just under 5 pounds. I always did think I was further on than what they said. I was rushed in for an emergency c-section when I attended a scan and was told that one of my girls had died..so you can imagine the smile on my face as I look at my girls 2 years on. The birth was hard I won't lie the spinal did not work on me and had to be put to sleep halfway through when the doctors realised that I was not just a hysterical woman. The doctors knew that was possible but have never come across it so it is very rare. I hope you have a good birth and I wish you all the best for the future.

My boy/girl twins were born at 27 wks. I was in labor in my back for 3 days and never knew. When I went for a dr appt the babies were dropping and ready to come out.I had them that day by c-section. My son was in NICU for 6 wks born at 2 lbs 15oz and my daughter for 8 wks born at 2 lbs 5 oz. If you saw them now you would never know they were that tiny. They are almost 5 yrs. Good Luck!!!

I had my girls at 38 weeks exactly. I had a planned c-section because once they explained that I might push the first one out and then need surgery, I put my foot down and said "NO." Either cut me or don't, but there will be none of this push-one, cut one business!!! My scheduled c-section turned into a not-so-scheduled one, because at my last appt on Friday (due to deliver on Monday) I was in labor and they didn't want me going natural (Baby A had turned breech by then). It wasn't bad - the first full day, one baby started to choke and I got up off that bed and across the room so fast it would make your head spin! I got her fixed up, then all of a sudden realized "gee, I just had surgery!" OMG, it HURT!! LOL!!! My best piece of advice - make sure someone brings you something to eat - the hospital screwed up all three times I delivered, and I never got fed that night, lol!!! I was starving!!!
