Twin Clothes

With my b/g twins.. I did both. And a group of my friends who all had kids 1 year apart, we just continually swap clothes. Some, I sell at the childrens orchard, some I donate when I get too overwhelmed with the mounds of clothes and don't want to sort for friends.

We got pregnant when my twins were 6, and I started saving clothes. I only save the good stuff, but we're are being buried alive with hand-me-downs as well. With two younger girls though, and an uncertain future, I'm not getting rid of my stash!

I have done many things with all the clothes my twin girls have had over the years. Ther are so many options now. I have garage sales, sell on craigslist, donate, give to friends with kids, give to women's shelters. We have a club where I live for parents of multiples, they have a clothing and furniture sale twice a year. The sale is so popular and known so well in my town EVERYBODY shows up for it, it is a HUGE success. People who work the sale get to shop first, then club members then the general public. We also have a couple of stores in my state like Once Upon a Child that buy and sell gently used clothes. Good luck, don't get buried by the menutia!

I always try to donate, especially to other twin Moms. But if not then I have a boy and girl box and whoever I come across first with either kid gets the box! Frankly I am on a Yard Sale Facebook page but I don't have the time to meet people and have them go thru stuff for the few bucks it gets you! Now toys go great and are worth it but I don't think clothes are.

there is a website called thred up they do a batter system trade clothes through their site. They set it up for you and send you the boxes check them out.

i havee been slowly packing the clothes by their sizes in boxes, and if i know friends or peoplle who are expecting, i give them 1 box of that sizes. i dont give it all. because if u give a little to everyone, you help more ppl in need. there are consignment sales, but they don't come around too often for you to sell all the clothes. and chances are you wont sell everything.. i have been giving clothes to whoever i honestly feel who needs it. my neighbor who is living in a 1 bedroom apartment with 3 kids i know is struggling. so i already have given her 2 boxes of 1-6 months winter and summer clothes.. so i can rest assure that her daughters will hahve clothes on their back and i did something good for someone. i know ppl helped me out a few times, and now i think its time to pay it forward..

I would have a huge garage sale with all the baby and kids items that you dont need anymore. Make sure to advertise it, you should get a ton of people if its advertised. People look for cheap ways to get baby items.

I donate mine through Freecycle. It can be so hard to find matching clothes on a tight budget. I just want to pass them along so that those that may not be able to afford new clothes could still have matching outfits if they wanted.

I donate them to other Moms in my Mothers of Multiples group. It is hard to have to buy clothes for two kids so that helps them out some ... same thing with toys!

I trade my clothes for the next size. I use a great website called Swap Mama's, it's a barder based site that you can use to trade just about anything, not just clothes.

we aren't sure if we are going to have any more or not but my feeling on baby gear is that I know people that use it NOW and with limited storage space I would rather give them to people that can use them now or in a few months. A got a lot of hand me downs for my girls and I know the people that I'm giving the clothes and gear to now would turn around and give me the stuff back or other stuff if I needed it

Once upon a child will take nicer clean clothes. I take my winter clothes there and sell the warm weather stuff at our annual garage sale. Since I've had to buy most of my twin clothes new, they're not so worn out as hand me downs.

The Multiple Birth Foundation based at Hammersmith Hospital in London are looking for clothes donations for parents on low incomes who have had twin or more arrivals.

I have sold some at car boot sales, ebay and have given lots away including to the MBF.

Do you have a multiples group in your area? Our multiples group has a garage sale twice a year which is really nice. I've also met other moms with twins younger than mine so I sell to them at discounted prices. This helps them and me out. I've also sold some on craigslist...

Our Moms of Multiples group has a sale twice a year. It helps our group raise money and we put our part towards vacation or our daughter's pageants.

I consign the clothes and toys that I am able to or what they except. This way with the credit I can get differant stuff for them. Then I freecyle or donate the rest.

I'm a mother of 6 kids and I lived in the same neighborhood for many years, I don't know who the neighbor was but every now and again I would find clothes on my porch! I can tell you that was such a blessing to me, not to worry about having to buy clothes for that one child! I'd like to some day be able to do that!

I found a circle of friends that have kids of different sizes and we just circulate the clothes between 6-7 households. it works and i spend very little on clothes!

I list all mine on ebay, I have boy Girl twins and plan to have more children in the future someday but i would rather the other children had their own clothes not hand me downs from my twins already, not for any snobby reason just because i dont want to store the clothes just in case i dont manage o have anymore, I also use the money from selling the clothes on ebay to buy more for them, then i am not acti=ually missing the monay as it was in paypal. anything that does not sell i bag up and donate to charity or put on freecycle. Its amazing how much money you do get from selling on ebay, \it sure soon does add up x

I was given almost everything I have for my 4 kids so I try to give them away to people who could use them. I just gave pretty much everything I had accrued over the last 4 years for my boys to my sister-in-law who is 19 and had a baby boy. Neither had a job so they really needed the help. I also will take some things to goodwill and if I need to buy clothes the local goodwill in town runs sales and you can get kid's clothes for 99 cents.

I give away my girls clothes to friends. We all had kids within 6 months of eachother. Since I was given a lot of clothes I like to pass them along. I do keep a few things as keepsakes though.

I gave my clothes to a young girl who became pregnant and had twins! She was a single mom and needed all the support she could get. I felt really good about giving her the boys clothes. They were a year or so younger then my boys so it worked out great!

I am like you, 5 kids, we are done. There are certain pieces I have sold, like Christmas Dresses. I tried to take a few things to once-upon-a-child, but they are so picky that it is hardly worth the time and effort to take them over there. I ask around if there is anyone in need of little girls clothes, if I can't find anyone in need I will post it on craigslist with a limit of a few days, and after that our school district has a clothing room that is free for families in the area that qualify, and I can just take them and drop them in the office of my son's school and they will haul them over to where they need to go. I do sell the big items like the swing, walker, highchairs.

Another idea is a twin sale. There are many twin leagues/groups that have huge sales. If you are part of the group you get in a day early and can buy double outfits for the price of singles, and you can also set up your own table to sell for a small fee. Look up local twin organizations on facebook or online. There are typically membership dues.

Although we do plan on having more, or at least one more depending on if we have multiples again or not, we don't have the room to keep the clothes. So we sell some, donate some, and free cycle others. We do keep some we just cant keep them all.

sell them on ebay. Many people sell big loads of clothes on ebay.
