My twins are 18 months old now so I'll start with birth: a pack and play especially if you have 2 stories. We kept our pack and play int he living room and the crib upstairs. Plus when people came over to see them, they just walked into the livingroom. Also, a diaper genie (Best thing ever!!!) 2 high chairs, a swing and a vibrating chair and a bouncer (I didn't need 2 of all of those cause I just switched the babies out!)!

For toddlers, the main thing is a baby gate. I let my children play in a childproof room and don't let them in the bathroom or the kitchen or dangerous areas. When you are watching 2 at a time, you can't risk them getting hurt on anything!!

Oh and definitely a double stroller that's single file, not side by side! We have a side by side and it's too hard to manuver and you can't get through smaller doorways. Plus the kids bother each other too much when they are side by side!!

I have twin boys that just turned a year old and they have an almost 4 yr old brother. I could not live without my double stroller (doc appts, etc are so hard without it). Everything else they share. I only had one swing and one jumperoo and one bouncy seat; they were happy being switched around. A playpen is a must....I call it my baby jail for when I need to get something done without being worried about the babies getting into something:) Good luck....twins are a blessing but very trying at times!

Hi Kleena, Ive had to cast my mind back as my twins are now 26 years, my list would be;



First and Foremost - their own bedroom - sleep is a must! *

Safety catches for cupboards + socket covers. *

Strong playpen/safety gate (custom made from wood works well)

2 btl sterylizers

Silver Cross Twin pram/pushchair *

Double buggy for travelling *

Strong bolts on internal doors - to protect your delicate ornaments, music/book collection and sleeping pets!!! *

Two decent sets of headphones, one for parents to listen to soothing music when it all gets too hectic, the other for twin toddlers to listen to favourite bedtime stories or TV programmes.

And last but not least - a good babysitter *

It's the most simple thing but I feel it is a must have, especially for same sex multiples. A Sharpie marker. I mark everything!! When they get older and they pick a toy, they need to know that that is the one they chose so they can't fight later or of course, if the they have the same toy. Or anything that you may need to differentiate. It was a life saver for me.

As a mother who has had twins and a single birth, the twins are much easier! I had two baby beds, only needed one because they have always slept together. As infants straight home from the hospital we wrapped them tightly in blankets and put them back to back. We bought a heatbeat bear to put in the crib with them and they slept 12 hours every night once they were about 3 weeks old. Beware of sleeping together in toddler years, their little minds come up with every conceivable idea to get themselves out of the bed! Must have a play pen for play time together.

I have 10 month twin b/g and I could not have lived without the double stroller, the swing and the bouncy/jumparoo. All these items saved my life being a stay at home mom with little to no help from family. My husband works 12 hour shifts so durn the day I was on my own. good luck...

I have 8 month old twins. Things I coundn't live without are: bouncy seats, reclining booster/feeding chair (my boys are still too small for the highchairs!) a regular swing and a travel swing (the travel swing was great to use at home too!) and the double stroller. I think everything else I would've been ok with not having even though everything else is great to have!
