I wouldn't worry. My boys measured up to 3 weeks apart on the sonograms, eventually catching up to measuring only a week apart, but were still born over a pound, and a half apart. And they are perfectly fine :)

HELLO I AM 6 WEEKS AND 6 DAYS PREGNANT AND YESTERDAY I JUST FOUND OUT ITS TWINS BUT THE DOCTER COULD ONLY DETECT ONE CLEAR HEARTBEAT AND HE SAID ONE OF THE SACKS DIDNT LOOK NORMAL HE SO WANTS ME TO COME BACK IN A MONTH FOR ANOTHER ULTRASOUND HAVE ANYONE EVER EXPERIENCE THIS IM VERY NERVOUS.

dont worry its ok! just i was working and i went into labor at 23 weeks and had to be put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy just get lots of rest because you wont get it when there here! :)

Twins are normally like that...I have given birth four weeks earlier than the due date given to me. So, you should expect that because when they grow bigger, the room is not enough for them to move around. They tend to struggle for the space. I have problems in sleeping, walking and other kind of problems three months before delivery. You should prepare their things earlier and put the bags in you car so that you are ready in no time. Remember, pregnancy with twins is not the same with the normal pregnancy. You should monitor your babies' movement just in case they need to go out earlier...good luck...

I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with twins and to begin with they were one day apart from each other. Then baby b started to get bigger than baby a. The doctor told me that as long as they didn't get three weeks between each other that everything would be okay. I went to the doctor yesterday and now baby a is four oz bigger than baby b. All I can say is rest eat whats right and try to enjoy being pregnant dont stress about it. Stress can lead up to more problems with the babies than them being a few days or oz apart. Good luck!

Yes, I did. but it all turned out just fine. I delivered at 33 weeks, they spent 2 weeks in NICU and another 2 weeks in pediatrics(which I was able to stay too). Baby A was 4 lbs 0.04oz 17 in. long. Baby B was 4lbs 2.7oz 17 1/2 in. long. They are 14 now and are 5'5'' A is 88lbs and B is 93lbs. Stress is not good for you or the babies. Your babies will catch up to the weeks later on. Just stay healthy and relax everything will be great.

Congrats on expecting twins! Best advice is try not to worry or stress about it... My twins were all over the place & the drs sometimes had trouble finding the 2nd one (with heart monitor) b/c she was a mover :p They were born early at 29wks & spent 6wks in the NICU bC they were small (2.6lbs & 3.1lbs) but have been perfectly healthy & growing strong since they arrived in Aug'09. Eat healthy & well, take good care of yourself & get as much rest as you can... Afterall, your body is doing alot ;)

I was the same way for both, my dr said that they were 3 days behind, and when I finally did deliver my twin were on top of each other instead of next to each other, my dr told me it was because I was such a small girl. Everything turned out great!

hi tiera yup it is normal..i experience it also when i got my ultra sound they have not desame dues,they have different days ..by the way i have twins 2 boys and now they are 1 yrs old and 10 mon.would you believe they are not look a like.so dont worry its normal base in my experience.good luck!!!

hello my twins were always behind on their scans and one was always bigger then the other i would say listen to the doctors it is normal although mine were measuring around 3-41lbs before i gave birth and i gave birth 5 weeks early to 2 healthy babies weighing 5lb 3oz and 7lb 6oz and they did not spend any time in special care.

i agree one of mine was always bigger than the other and the ehart beats shaddowed each other :) up till i was about to give birth to my girls they told me me dates were wrong and they were going to be small but i had them in the end at 36 weeks and one was 5 pound 11 and the other was 5 pound 3. make sure you get lots of rest and if you feel something is wrong push as i found people thought i was being to worried and ended up having post pardom ecalmpsia after the girls were born. they are now 3 and are the same size and at the same intelect as any other 3 year old :)

My twins were always about 14 ounces different from each other when they guessed their weight according to their measurements. Their measurments were also a little off according to the actual due date. But we knew the actual due date because we kept track of BBT. I was induced at 38 weeks. They weighed 5 12 and 6 10 at birth, came home with me two days later, and they've never had any health problems.

My twins were born in July of 09 and one was smaller than the other but she was also dated at being 2 days behind her sister.... Like all the other moms here, eating is the best way to keep them close together in weight. Also... LOTS of milk! I was going through a 4L bag of milk a day and the doctor said that was a great thing to do. My girls were born 1 week early :) (well 5 if you're going by the 40 week schedual, but normal gestation for twins is 36wks) If you can go beyond the 36wk period DO IT! I wish I had been able to! :P
The doc told me that the smaller one was only 2lbs at the last ultrasound we had and she turned out to be 3lbs 6 so it's all just guestemation on their part. Like Marie said, it isn't an exact science. All they can do is guess by how long they appear to be and by the size of the different body parts the measure. Just keep positive and things will be fine!

It's perfectly normal mine never weighed the same even today and they are 31/2. Try not to worry because it will raise your stress levels. Try and enjoy every minute of it.

I had the same as well.. mine ended up bien born at 33 weeks and in NICU about 3 weeks.. and now you would never know they were premie's.. Their huge.. Just listen to all your body tells you.. and take it easy.. It will all work out.. I was uptight most of my pregnancy worried bout this and that.. wish Id of try enjoying it more.. Good Luck..

hi there, my twins are grown up now. when they were born they were 6lb2oz and 6lb8oz and 4 weeks early, they were different all the way through as one was in a better postion then the other, twins will quite often be different as they are two people

my twin boys were measuring behind my dates. i was told this was normal. they tend to be slightly smaller at borth as well but that is ok as long as they are not really low birth weight. good luck. do you know what you are having?

I agree about eating right. It is so important with twins/ multiples. More so than with a single. I was worried about gaining too much weight since I was overweight to begin with. But I had so much morning sickness in the beginning I lost 12 lbs. And overall gained 35lbs. My goal all along was to eating super healthy- lots of fruit with vitamins! And lots of protein! My boys were born at 37 weeks each over 5lbs and perfect!

Don't stress about the ultrasounds- they aren't the whole story...

Don't stress it too much. They said my girls were up to a pound different all the way up to the end.

So my DR (which I would suggest going to a midwife instead) decied to deliver via C-Section a MONTH early on that.

It turned out they were only .5 different and they were already working on their "practice breathing".



So they weighed 4.8 and 4.12oz, they never went to the NICU and they went home with us. They are now 4 months and they weigh 8pds and I breastfeed.



My oldest is 17 months and she only weighs 20pds- all of my children are on track mentally and emotionally for their age.



I would suggest make sure you gain enough weight during the first two trimesters-just in case they choose to suggest early delivery.

I only gained 17pds in TOTAL



Be proactive and be an active member in your health care. I was very proactive in my health care and I was well informed of how my pregnancy was going and what my DR wanted to do to keep us safe. (It turned out she delivered a set of twins having to use forceps and she did not want to do that with us)

Try to relax. I had my twins 3 months early and they are perfectly healthy. If you want them gaining weight all you can do is eat. Eat. Eat Eat. You body has to do the rest. I gained 35 pounds my first trimester and the babies happened to be born at 25 weeks. It probably saved their lives. So All I can say is EAT. Hang in there. A few weeks more and your in the clear.! Try to put your feet up and rest properly!

lol...ya girl thats completely normal.....I have 14month old twins boy n girl and he always hogged all the room and food from his sis...lol....so ya your doing fine.....eat rite and exercise is the best advise I can give you.....i was 105 when i got preg and 185 when I had my c section....and because of me being on bedrest my entire pregnancy with no excersise no breast feeding and the fact i had a c section i am still 138lbs....so eat and excersie rite...

Tiera, mine were always different right up until the end. Try not to stress too much but remember if you have any concerns ask the doctor and there are plenty of resources online as well as here on this board.

I too found differences in days and weight. Sometimes off more than a week. The twins were measuring different days as well. The weight of the babies was not science either. I went full term and the babies were very healthy.

my babes were all over the place, it's normal..when they were born they were 2 weeks early, and only 5lbs and 5lbs 1oz, never saw a NICU and were perfectly healthy....the key for my healthy pregnancy was to just keep thinking positive (in the beginning i was so worried i would lose one, or both, and everytime i saw a doctor had them double check there were 2 heart beats, lol) after that i kept thinking about how healthy and big they were growing....it worked!!! :) they'll probably always be a little smaller in ultrasouds, partly because they're twins.. (imagine how big your babies would be if it were just 1) and partly because ultrasounds are not 100% accurate...they were measuring one of my babies to be a lot smaller than the other, when they were always pretty much the same size...my mom had a set of twins, and on her last ultrasound she went home, and her phone was ringing...she answered and they asked her to get to the hospital right away..when she got there they said one baby wasn't going to make it if they didn't do an emerg c-section then, because he was only 3;bs and his brother was 6...when they delivered my brothers they were only a few ounces apart, and the 3lber was 5lbs...lol, not accurate at all! and my mom could have went alot longer had they not made the mistake

don't worry so much...worry causes stress and stress is not good for you or those babies!! enjoy it, and good luck :)
