I think most of us know that twins don't usually go full term. Evenmore so, they can come sooner than we would like. So how soon do I have an emergency hospital bag ready & what do I pack in it?

I packed mine at 30 weeks and delivered my twins girls via planned c-section at 36 weeks.

For me I had
-Disposable panties
-Socks and underwear
-Outfit for leaving hospital
-Personal care items (cream, toothbrush, etc)
-Bellyband (I used it as soon as I left the OR, helped getting my belly back in place faster)
-nightgawn, roba and sleepers.

For the twins
-2 blankets
-2 outfits
-2 hats
-burp clothe (a lot)
-swaddle blanket (ONLY if you have them)
-Pacifiers
and that was it. We all went home after 3 days :)

This will depend on what country you live in and what hospital you go to. Most hospitals will give you a list of recommended items.

For me, the hospital provided everything we needed during the stay (except nursing bra's and pads). They provided diapers, wipes, clothing, hats and blankets for the twins during their stay, and hospital gowns for me, lotion, bath supplies, and even pads and disposable underwear for mom! So I just needed to pack things that I would need for the way home, or for entertainment purposes during my stay (I knew I was having a C-section). So I brought clothes and blankets for each baby, clothes for me, all the nursing bras that I owned, and a box of nursing pads. Also a hair brush, and hygiene items (the hospital provides shampoo, but not conditioner, and personally I preferred the smell of my own...) Then I brought a few books, notebooks, pens and pencils... Oh, and don't forget your camera!!!

Also, while the hospital provided meals, I took some snack items... For my first child everyone told me to take lolly pops to suck on during labor... but I didn't use them. I never did that again, but it's nice to take some apples and oranges and such for later on, however, that isn't really good in an emergency bag... We just kept them on hand and my husband picked them up after the babies came and he went for the things that we forgot (there's always something!)

I had mine ready as soon as I got out of the hospital the first time to try and keep them in. I'm also a little crazy about making sure everything was ready to go, but thats me.

Being the person I am, I packed two of everything, even m own things. Outfits, blankets, socks, hats, burp rags...two for each baby. Then there were things for me. I didn't know whether i was going to have to have a c-section so i packed two pairs of loose pants/shorts and a few shirts, clean under garments, and personal things (i.e. toothbrush, brush, pads and what not).

At this point I was, or my husband rather, was carrying a duffel bag and there was still more things. Then came all the tools for feedings and changing. Diapers and wipes a plenty. Creams and lotions. And of course, depending on your feeding methods, anything for breast feeding, pumping, or formula.

I know its a lot to read but I hope it helped a little.
