What's an appropriate length of time...?

My twins will be 1 on Thursday and are eating regular food and still weaning off of formula. What is an appropriate length of time to let them sit in the high chair with their food? I don't want to leave them too long and I also don't want to cut them off leaving them hungry.

My boys are 18m and really into the "all done" stage, We have a 15minute rule, they get a snack about 2hr after lunch or breakfast and a before bed snack before their bottle.

Our girls will be one in Jan and we let them sit in the highchair until they show us they are done eating. They start playing with the food or turn their head when we offer them something.

Try to start gauging their cues and go from there. I have a set of two and a half year old b/g twins and and almost five month old son and that's what I do. Sometimes they eat more than other times so it's hard to give an exact time limit.

We let our twins stay at the table until they stopped eating and started playing when they were that age. It wasn't always the same amount of time. But if they were just playing we would clean up.
