What signs of Twins did you notice

I've already gained 8lbs and i'm only 8 weeks. With my son I didn't even start gaining weight till I was 14 weeks. I know they say you show sooner with you're second, but i'm having my suspicions. My ultrasound is in 2 weeks, and I can't wait to find out.

I started showing right away and thought that was odd then at around 8 or 10 weeks realized I was a lot bigger than I thought I should be at that point. At 12 weeks went for an ultra sound and sure enough there where two babies in there. Now im 13 weeks and very confused lol

Thankyou everyone who answered. I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks 5 days, and there was only 1 in there. Also the 8 lbs I gained turned into me losing 10, so i'm now 2 lbs less than when I got pregnant cause ive been sooo sick. So i'm hoping for a girl since I already have a boy, and was not sick hardly at all with him. Thanks again guys!

I'll add to the morning sickness. I wasn't throwing up, but I was sea sick all day long. I knew something was up before I even found out I was pregnant because I was devastatingly tired. But we didn't know it was twins until my 12 week ultrasound. Strangely, I had been looking up signs of twins the night before.... No real reason why. When they said it was twins, it all made sense.

None except the HCG level was off the charts and unmeasurable at 7w and the dr asked if I have twins in the family, and look for 2 on US at 8w. We found only one on US at 8w. I didn't gain weight until 10w but I showed by 7 or 8w and looked 3m pregnant. I was always nauseous, I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, that is how I ended up in ER where they took the blood to check me. Other than that I didn't have any way to know it was twins or not. I have identical twins so I don't know how one didn't show on US because they were in the same sack and in the same place.

I needed my maternity clothes at 1 1/2 months and was starving all the time. If I didn't eat, I would get sick.

My twins were my first pregnancy. I remember the morning sickness was really bad. I couldn't eat anything until like after 2 p.m.. Everyone who knew me kept telling me I was showing to much too soon to be having 1 baby. I thought they were joking until my first ultrasound. I had fraternal twins..one of each.

My pregnancy test came out postitive a week early, that was tip number one. I was super sick all the time and began craving an insane amount of milk (i don't like milk at all) and beef (I hadn't eaten beef in almost a year). Twins run in my family but I never expected them. I got to see my little peanuts on an ultrasound at 6 weeks :) By then I had gained 10 lbs. By the day I delivered I gained 55lbs. that was my first and so far only pregnancy, hope this helped. Good luck!

My sister was convinced she was having multiples because of her weight gain at the beginning of her pregnancy, but it was only one... sorry, but your MIL is probably just hopeful.

Thanks guys! Yeah I know that there's no way to tell until the ultrasound, but I was just trying to compare and see. With my first I was pretty sick, didn't throw up a lot, but I barely ate anything. I didn't gain any weight till 14 weeks even though I had a pretty decent baby bump. I had just gotten thinner everywhere else. Plus the first time I was so tired that once I was playing Monopoly on Playstation and I sat there and balled my eyes out cause I was too tired to even press the button to roll the dice. It was pathetic. This one is going a lot easier than the last. I'm still getting sick, but i'm not nearly as tired. But even my MIL thinks im having twins cause of my weigh gain. She's a nurse practitioner and everything and she says it's a good sign haha. Either way i'll be happy :)

I was never sick but extremely tired. Being it was my second pregnancy I knew something was different.

I'm sorry all of you were so sick. I never got sick, i have to admit it was a very easy pregnancy for me except for the last month. I was so huge I needed a hoyer lift to roll me over! lol

I was violently sick for the first 16 weeks of pregnancy - couldn't keep anything down and lost weight. Was also very tired, but the morning sickness really defined the first bit of pregnancy for me. Didn't start gaining weight till about 18 weeks, though I had a huge bump by then!

I have to agree with all the pp. The only real way to know for sure you are having multiples is to see multiple heartbeats on an ultrasound. Anything other than that, even high HCG levels, is only a speculation. I also lost weight by my fist appointment even though I was not sick.

All you can do is wait and see what happens at the ultrasound. I am due any day now with my second pregnancy (3rd baby) and I can tell you that you do tend to show sooner with subsequent pregnancies. Good luck!

I think the only way to confirm a twin pregnancy is by HCG levels and ultrasounds. I Don't think weight gain really makes a huge difference, especially at only 8 weeks. I found out I was having twins at 7-8 weeks pregnant and I hadn't even gained weight yet.

I know what you mean heather the 1st three months I was so worried for the twins cause I stayed sick,I have never vomited so much in my life even if I smelled food or seen it on T.V. it would make me dry heave

Morning sickness was the first thing for me. I don't think that I started gaining weight until around 10 weeks though... I actually lost weight because I was so sick, eating anything made me nauseous.

I found out by ultrasound when I was 6 weeks and thats the only definate way to really know but I was very sick and couldn't hold water down for the 1st three months
