Hey everyone....

Found out last Thursday (10th March) that I was pregnant, to be honest I have no idea what possessed me to take a test since I was on the pill and still bleeding with the irregular cycles that it was causing... anywho, I went to the doctors that day and he took another test and was like "WOW! You are VERY pregnant" because the test turned pink straight away indicating high hCG levels. He tested my belly and said he would be surprised if I wasn't 12-15weeks pregnant, or 8weeks with twins. Due to not being able to date it I ended up at an emergency dating scan the following Monday. The scan revealed that I am only 6weeks roughly and showed only one sac, though I must admit it didn't seem like they were interested in looking for a twin but rather just interested in checking the age so they could start my care and stuff. So... I was wondering if it is possible for their to be a twin still... or does anyone know what else would cause high hCG levels?

Sorry if I am rambling.... this pregnancy came as a shock as you can imagine (though I am REALLY happy) and I am a little scared about what is happening and if the bleeding effected the baby and stuff.

Thanks. xx

Ok, thanks everyone XD
I really do just have a strong feeling it is.... and considering I am only 7 weeks and had lost most of my baby weight from Annabell I seem to have gotten huge in such a small space.... I feel like I am 20weeks pregnant. o.O Anyways, I am going to try and not worry about things and just take it day by day.

Thanks again everyone.

My first transvaginal at 8 wks only found one. He was looking for twins since it was my 5th pregnancy. They didn't find both identical twins until 18 weeks. What a surprise. I was pretty sure it was twins since I was growing very quickly. So, it is possible. :)

I had an ultrasound at 6 and 8 weeks, and didn't find out I was having twins until my 20 week ultrasound. I was shocked. But it is possible. Good Luck!

Each person has their own levels of HcG -- it could be possible your body just develops more than others, you could have twins, you could have HAD twins, and now have a singleton (Disappearing twin thing) -- Your dr will continue to monitor your hcg levels, just mention your concern at your next appt. they will likely scan you again just because the added stress of worrying about it is bad for the pregnancy :)

Wow, congrats on your little bundle to be and it is very possible if they were not through that you might be having twins & that is awesome - I have twin girls just over 8 months (my hubby already has two girls 28 & 30 with kids of their own younger than our girls LOL.....needless to say my dumplings will be my only ones. I wish you luck :o)

Wow! :) Well congrats on your two little terrors :) hehehe. Shall just have to wait for my next scan and see what happens. Twins run in my family and triplets in my partners so I know there is a chance on our genetics alone.... :) Wish me luck! xxx

Yes there could another lil bubba in there! I've heard many stories of women who didn't find out they were carrying twins til a fairly advanced stage of pregnancy!
When I found out I was expecting twins I was 10 weeks pregnant, I didn't realise I was pregnant til 8 weeks. It was my 1st pregnancy, I was only 20 and not expecting to fall pregnant just yet. I was all alone for my 1st scan and what a (double) shock!

Thanks guys :) ....so it is possible that there could still be twins, or it could be that the doctor just made a mistake and its only one baby XD. I don't mind either way I just sort of want to know either way... you know? But yeah I found it a little wierd that she didn't check, but to be honest she gave me a feeling of being very very rushed..... she wasn't as nice as the ladies I had with my daughters pregnancy. It was like... "lets get you in and out" sort of thing. *shrug* Thanks again though everyone. xxx

I think my HCG levels were in the 8000's at 6 weeks with twins. I looked online and it said that I should have been farther alone than I was with those levels... but the ultrasound confirmed it was twins.

They found my twins at my 6 week ultrasound, however they had finished the ultrasound and were pulling out when they noticed the second sac. So it's very possible that they missed a second one, but I find it very odd that they didn't check when they thought it was a possibility...
