I'm noticing alot of twin mommies deliver early. I'm wondering when did you deliver and how did your labor start? Back ache? Contractions? Did you ever successfully stop preterm labor before you delivered? just curious...

I had my twin boys at 37 weeks 5 days. I started having contractions at 28 weeks and was put on bedrest. From 28 weeks and on I was in the hospital about once a week to stop more contractions and even had to have the steriod shot to help there lungs mature. On the morning that they were born I didnt wake up until 11am and was in so much pain I just wanted to take a bath. I went in to the hospital again thinking that it was just another weekly trip they would stop them and send me home. I got there at a little after 1 in the afternoon and was dialated to TEN!!!! They had to rush in the whole O.R. team and get everything set up. I had my son Logen vaginal at 3:35 and he was 5lbs 8oz and my son Landen c-section at 4:02 and he was 5lbs 14oz. he was a c-section because he was sideways trying to come out and his heart rate dropped form 150's down to 56. we then found out that he punctured his lung and had to be rushed to another hospital. they are both big and very heathly right now. wish you luck!

I was worried my whole pregnancy about delivering early....until they had to induce me at 38 weeks! I was really uncomfortable (I was walking with a cane as my pelvic bones were not handling my rather considerable weight very well...but that was just me!) and I had high blood pressure which turned out to be preeclampsia, but they also told me they (at least my hospital/OB team) often induce twins at 38 weeks unless the mother really wants to wait. Either way, I didn't have a choice, and I was READY anyway, as I really wanted to be able to walk again, LOL! Good luck!!!

Deliver twins at 37 weeks by c-section. Did not go into labour, i were just tired and heavy. I were very healthy the whole preg ( except for the morning sickness or should I call it 24hour sickness) Dr wanted me to wait till labour starts on its own, but when he went away for a weekend I asked his partner to book me for the Monday 30 July 2007. Both babies were 2.52 kg. Healthy, and we all went home 2 days later

I had some pre-term labor a couple of times and they stopped them each time with an IV of fluids. I delivered via scheduled C at 37 weeks 2 days! I was soooo done and got really puffy so my OB was willing to do it as soon as I turned 37 weeks.

I delivered at 40 weeks to the day. I was due to be induced 3 days later however my blood pressure was starting to concern the OB and I think she was concerned that I might have been developing pre-eclampsia. I was induced at 7am in the morning and ended up with an emergency c-section at 11pm that evening. My boys did NOT want to leave!

Quoting Pam :

Unfortunately we lost our twins. They were stillborn at 30 weeks. I all of a sudden felt nothing, they had always been so active. I still can't believe it has happened. The days go on, and everyday is so different, but we some how manage to get through them. Our little perfect girls were Robyn and April, they were 3lbs 8oz and 3lbs 3 oz. They will be in hearts and thoughts forever.

Really, really sorry. Oh, my God, I cannot imagine what you are feeling. Be brave and... I can't say anything really, all my tought are with you!

Hi, my identical girls came on the 31. week. My water broke at 6 in the morning and I had them by 2.30 pm naturally. Contractions started straight away, in every 5 mins. I had epidural, I didn't feel anything, had a really nice day with hubby together. They were 3 lbs each and spent 5 weeks in SCBU.

I was experiencing preterm labor and dilating very early in my pregnancy. I had to have a cerclage and was on "extreme" bedrest for 4 1/2 months. I ended up being induced at 36 wks, 3 days, when my doctor felt my boys were big enough. They were 4lbs 15oz and 5lbs 15oz. They didn't have to spend any additional time in the hospital, so it was all worth it!

At 37 weeks 6 days, my doctor induced me to deliver my girls at 38 weeks. I quickly went into back labor after 2 hours of being induced. However, I was not dilating much and had already recieved the maximum amount of drugs considered safe. After 24 hours, and being dilated to 3 my doctor decided it was best to take them c-section even though both my girls were head down. However, my little Kalli wanted out first and she was my baby B. She rested her head on my Shelby's shoulder blocking her from trying to come out. In the delivery room for the c-section I was informed it would be about 7 minutes between the births of the babies, however my doctor said once they cut me open they removed Shelby and Kalli was popping out so they were born within seconds of eachother. Healthy, beautiful girls at 5lbs 3oz and 5lbs 10oz.

I was induced@ 37 weeks and my labor started at 630am and I delivered my girls naturally at 8:34pm and 8:40 pm, I never went into preterm labor and both my girls were healthy and weighed 5lbs 8 oz and 5 lbs 5 oz, although shortly after we learned they had sleep apnea and had to be in breathing monitors but everything is fine now and they grew out of it and are growing like crazy and almost crawling :)

I delivered my trips at 31w 1d after a week & 1/2 of hospital bedrest & 4w of strict home bedrest. I was scheduled to deliver at 31w 2d but after 7hrs of labor that the nurses & machines couldn't pick up on & many shots of terb my girlies were coming whether they liked it or not. All night the nurses kept telling me it wasn't "real" labor because my whole belly wasn't getting hard but the terb couldn't get me more than 20min between contractions & by the time they prepped me for the OR I was having radiating pains every 5min from my belly button to my knees.

My girls were tiny but perfectly healthy at 2lbs 2oz, 2lbs 12oz & 2lbs 8oz & came home at 5w, 10w, & 5w3d.

Forgot to mention I was having contractions when I wasn't on the Terbutaline. When my water broke it was immediate contractions that gradually got worse. Luckily, I was only at the hospital for 5 hours when I delivered. They came pretty fast. And thank GOD for epidurals. lol

I delivered at 37 wks 3 days. My water broke and I had them 5 hours later. I'd been having labor for about 2 weeks and was put on Terbutaline to stop contractions. That worked until my water broke. They were born a very health 6pds 12oz and 6pds 10oz, 7 minutes apart, and about 2-3 pushes each. Joseph was first and was occiput posterior (sunnyside up just like my first child) and Sarah was breech. They were both delivered via vaginal delivery with no complications.

Due to a breech baby B, my b/g twins were delivered c-section at 32 wks.

I was dilated 1 cm at 28 wks & had to go on bedrest.

At this time, I also developed Gestational diabetes, so I had to go on a DIET!! (But no insulin, phew!)

They were 3.4 & 3.6 lbs and had a 3 wk NICU stay.

I was 2 cm dialated at 30 wks.I was admitted to hospital and given steroid shots. I stayed there on bedrest until at 34 wks my water broke at 1:45 am. I had my first daughter out naturally at 5:03 am and then my second daughter out naturally at 5:33am. They were 3lbs 11oz and 4lbs 3.5 oz. They were in NICU for 4days. Then moved to intermediate care nursery for 8 days. They were very healthy from the beginning and needed no oxygen, just a feeding tube thru the nose, and incubator for 8 days. They came home with me in car beds both only about 4lbs. They are now 7 months old and very healthy and happy. the thing that helps with prelabour the most is making sure u r not constipated. if you r even the slightest bit you will have false labour pains that r pretty much caused by it.

I made it to 36 weeks! The girls were 5.10 and 6.11. They were healthy, but I had been on bedrest for about a month due to hypertension caused by the pregnancy. I had felt no contractions whatsoever, but when they hooked me up to the monitor I was having them. I had a c-section so it was pretty quick and honestly wasn't as bad as people say.

I had my fraternal twin boys by scheduled c-section at 38 weeks and 3 days. They were 7 lbs. 6 oz., 20 1/2 in. and 6 lbs. 5 oz., 19 3/4 in. I had not dilated or thinned at all, and I had not experienced any signs of labor coming on early at all. I had an absolutely trouble free pregnancy. My doctor said she fully expected that if I had chose to deliver naturally that I would have gone past my due date. They are 2 now, and they have been the picture of health.

I was 36 weeks when i had to go and be induced because the younger twin was dominateing his older brother. I had no problems with them, doctors wanted to do a C-Section but there was no need. i was ready to give birth...... Doctors were still putting on their gloves and said "dont push" but what do i do, i go and had a little push and out popped my son lucky for me he fell on the bed. Then an hour later his brother arrived. Bjorn 5lb 3oz and Breyton 7lb.... Awesome experience

[deleted account]

i was exactly 36 weeks, was at hospital seeing my consultant when my waters began to leak. i had a c-section an hour later and they weighed 5lb 4 oz and 5lb 1 oz and were absolutley fine needed no special care and came straight to the ward with me xx

I delivered at 33 weeks after a routine doctors appt. when we discovered I suddenly had very high blood pressure ( I was seeing a high risk doc twice a week b/c the twins were discordant) they admitted me to labor and delivery and found that I had severe preeclampsia and started to induce. Then after a few hours the babies had started to have heart decels and so they did an emergency c-section under general anesthesia and my beautiful daughters were born 8 minutes after deciding to do the c-section. I know it sounds like a horror story, but it was actually very calm and I felt totally prepared for the possibility of a labor similar to what I had. I also had amazing doctors and nurses (I delivered at Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital in Cleveland Ohio)that I trusted completely even though my doctor was not who delivered my babies. The whole experience was actually wonderful especially given the circumstances.
