When do I switch their beds from cribs to kid beds?

I have twin boys that are 16 months old and a 2 year old little girl. My little girl sleeps with me..my husband works nights. The boys sleep in their cribs...They have twin beds but havent moved them into their room yet. I need to get my little girl into her own bed and them into the twin beds... But when is the best age to transition them from cribs to beds? Keep in mind I'm doing this all by myself because my husband works. I'm kind of nervous about putting them in beds because they can get up and explore the house...and also getting them to bed may be a challenge...

I have 2 year old twin daughters and their father works nights as well. This past July the girls were 2 years and 5 months we moved into a new house when we moved in we set their new room up with big girl beds and moved all of their toys before they everr go to see it. Once they seen the beds they fell in love and we had no problem putting them into bed. Untill recently they both got sick and had to stay in the hospital for a few nights. Since we have been back home I can not get baby b, Kylee, to sleep in her own bed! At first I couldnt even get her to go to bed in her room, now she will go to sleep but by the time her dad gets home in the morning she is in our bed! I feel like I have started the process all over! But I have never had a problem with either one of them getting up in the middle of the night and roaming around the house if they do get up they either go to the potty or of couse come get in bed with mommy =) Good luck!

My twins were just over 2 years old when we transitioned them to big-boy beds. It was harder to get them out of our bed and into their cribs than it was to keep them in the toddler beds. My advice? Transition your daughter first, then your boys. I can't imagine going back and forth, putting all three of them back in their beds over and over.... Plus, it can't hurt them to see her sleeping like a big girl in her own bed.
