Just curious to know, do the twins ever sleep through the night. Hi, I'm new to the community, I'm a stay at home mom of a 14 month old twin boy and girl. I have just managed weaning them off breast milk, but they still don't sleep through the night, will they ever?

My girls slept all night since birth.. no lie,, my husband and I had to wake them up to feed them at 9pm, 12pm,,3am,,6am. My girls since 4 months old were going all night without any nightly feeding and they still slept all night. They stayed in the NICU for 3 weeks before we brought them home and everytime I went in there to see my girls they were crying and I asked why no one picks them up and was told... the worst thing you can do is pick a crying baby up if you know nothing is wrong. So we followed that rule and my gils are almost 2 now and they still sleep all night,, haivng a small adjustment issue with there new toddler beds but they still go to sleep in less then 1/2 hour after tucking them in. I guess I got lucky with them.

well, the twins wake up at abt 8 every morn, its breakfast time by 9. lunch at 11.30 followed by a nap by 1. they wake up again by 4 max, dinner at 7.30 followed by a bubble bath and bedtime is 9. no wavering, even if they do not nap during the day i do not allow them a nap at time before 9. they sleep now through the night and wake up at abt 4 or 5 in the morn, thats when i simply pat them and they drif right back into slumberland till 8. i didnt do much excpet had patience for the nights they woke up and cried and wanted to be breast fed. they are weaned off completely and now they know even if they do wake up its of no use.

Mine slept through at 4 weeks and always have. It differs for every kid. I had mine on a set schedule and they both slept in their own room and own cribs at all times.

My twin boys slept through the night before they were 2 months old. They sleep for more than 12 hour straight at night and they are almost 4 months old.

Candida it's worth a try...it would also allow you to get some sleep...I play music for my kids...it helps to soothe them back to sleep if by chance they do wake up......I hope you have some luck! kids are always kind of experimental anyways so keep trying momma something will work! :)

no offense at all tricia, thanks a lot. my twins do not sleep in the same cot their each have their own. but yes they do sleep in the same room with me. we have not yet shifted them to their own room. with my daughter, she was born really tiny and with a low sugar count, we were told we had to wake her up every 2 hours to feed her, with my son, he had no problem waking himself up but he woke up hungry. what should i do, they are 14 months old, they do not feed at night but they still wake up. could they just be wanting to sleep in bed with me hence they wake up? should i try moving them to their room and allowing them to cry? coz when i try to lay them back down in their cot they just dont but instead grab on to me for dear life.

I was always told to never wake a sleeping baby, so I never did wake them up to feed them....they eventually just slept for longer periods...with my older daughter I let her cry..do they sleep in the same crib? I let her cry for 15 minutes at a time and then I would go in and lay her back down, let her cry for another 15 etc...it took less than 45 minutes usually and after 3 or 4 nights she was done....I would let them cry...do not put them in bed with you, that's what they want, go in lay them back down and close the door....I don't actually mean to be telling you what to do please don't take offense..i just feel really strongly that having babies in bed can be detrimental to healthy sleep habits .... I hope that I have helped and not offended you.... it could take some time and lots of naps on your part.....good luck! :)

thanks for all the help. but this is my problem, what abt their night feeds when they were younger, how did u girls manage that. i have just managed to wean them off completely from breast milk. though they were never exclusively on breast milk i had to alternate with formula, i had to pick them up to feed them at night. at times having to breatfeed them both simultaneously. now since they are older at times when they wake up they simply stand up or sit up crying and refuse to go back into bed withput me patting them, and that means having to get them both in bed with me and pat them to sleep. how do i get them to stop waking up... any advice???

I have 19 month old boy girl twins and they have slept through the night since they were about 2 months old....I fed the at the same time every night, bathed them, and put them to bed...I wasn't breast feeding though and I don't know if that makes a difference, but I also agree with what Amy had to say...I do that sometimes at nap time! :) good luck they will eventually!

How many times a night are they waking? Are you picking them up when they cry or how do you react when they cry? My girls slept through the night since 4 months old but I had them on a very strict eating/sleeping schedule since birth. I also would not pick them up when they cried (unless they were ill or something) but comfort them with my touch by rubbing their back or something like that. I let them know I was there but did not pick them up and eventually this helped. Each time they cried I would add a minute to the amount of time I would let them cry before going back in for instance first night 2 mins before going in, second night 3 min. etc. Hope this helps
