I could not get into Three Cups of Tea. It was not my thing. However, The Art of Racing in the Rain I thought was phenomenal!

Is this community current. What book is everyone reading now? Need to know more about this community before I decide to join.

You guys liked Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet? I thought the premise was interesting as the Japanese Concentration Camps of WWII are rarely discussed, but I was confused up until about 1/2 way through which character was even the narrator. Oh well! :)

I am so glad this list is here. I don't always have time to browse around at the library, so this is a good place to go for quick ideas I can place on hold and pick up later!

I'm reading Three Cups of Tea...seems a little slow. Almost mid way. Does it get better?

I am SOOO glad to have found this group! I love to read, although, with a 2 & 3 yr old it takes MUCH longer to get through a book. I WILL not give this up! It is my one thing I do for myself :)

The Book Thief was my first audiobook and I loved it! Be forewarned that "Death" is the narrator... :-)

I just checked out The Book Thief at the library today. I saw it while searching through audiobooks to listen to at work, and was thinking it was July's choice. I cant wait to get started on listening to in on my commute to work, and possibly in the office as well. :-)

Just finished Firefly Lane... it was really good. I was impressed with it. When I first started reading it I thought it was going to be a predictable book, and it wasnt. The only thing I hate though is SAD ENDINGS!!! I dont like to finish a book feeling depressed..lol. But yes, it was good and worth the read.

Thankyou for posting this. I will "try" to read "some" since I'm still in the first chapter of January's book. So ashamed :-(

Good Question! For me, I choose a book that I have heard a lot of good things about. Not sure how Laura P. chooses hers...

Thanks for posting! I was wondering what you all have read in the past. A lot of great discussion books on that list! Out of curiosity, how do you choose the titles?
