I like Katniss, but man, she's a tough one. I couldn't imagine doing the things she did. I grew up in a family of men who love hunting and my dad and brothers always tried to get me into it and I had NO interest whatsoever! LOL



I hope she does a book next about Haymitch and what happened to him in more depth! I think that would be a good one!

I first heard about these books the last year I was teaching in a brick and mortar school. I always used to borrow books from the library, but nothing was really sticking out to me, so I asked the librarian for a suggestion. She told me all of the kids were reading The Hunger Games, so I was like, Okay, I'll try it. Kids were coming up to me when they saw I was reading the book talking to me about it. I loved that. I had one boy, who was an avid reader, tell me it was the best book he'd ever read. LIke you, once I picked it up, I was hooked. It is so cleverly written and inviting.



Of course we all like Katniss, or we probably wouldn't keep reading. I'd have to say I like Peeta the most; although Rue is so sweet and adorable. Peeta is strong, but he doesn't let that take away from his sensitive side. Too often, men seem to believe they can only be one or the other. I am glad Collins allowed Peeta to be both.

I just can't pick one favorite!



I love Katniss (courageous, loyal to family & friends), and Gale (the boy next door, dependable & supportive), and Peeta (sweet, protective, romantic) and Rue (no explanation needed) - oh and don't forget Cinna (clever, intelligent & subtle)!!



They are all such awesome characters!

It's a toss up for me between Katniss and Peeta. Katniss, because she is strong and loyal and fierce. But, I like Peeta too because he's gentle and loves Katniss so much he'd die for her.



Wouldn't we all love to have a love like that? He accepts her completely as she is, selfishness and all, without judgement.



I had never heard of these books before I learned about them on here, and they're captivating! I was so hooked on the Hunger Games, I went out and immediatelky bought the other two in the series!
