I live in Langford and recently i have found a place called tumble bums. its perfect for my 18 mos old. Older kids can play to my son is 6 and loves it. Its sordive like the playzone but for smaller kids

Anything that gets them active yet out of the rain - preferably using their brains as well - gets my big thumbs up!  If I had more than two thumbs, I would put them ALL up.

How about starting a kids area, like science world/Jumpin jimminies in the old Overwaitea store? (or something like it)  I need to hear from as many people who would use the place before going ahead with my business plan

Hi Jaymie,

We're in Comox and have the same problem - especially on rainy days when the great outdoors aren't so appealing to the littles ( 4.5 and 2).  We have been known to go to Let Em Loose but unless we go with friends, the lad isn't particularly interested, he needs other kids to play with and he really dislikes driving.

Which is why..... I'm probably going to want to gnaw my own arm off for suggesting this.... but thinking about having a "Rainy Day Sunday afternoon" flexible playgroup - say from 2-4pm for preschoolers.  If it was taking advantage of a "local family eatery" type playground, then it is suitable for preschoolers and taller little kids but does nothing for my 2 year old (she's tiny).  The idea would be that interested mummies would say hello on here and then, coming a disasterously rainy Sunday, I would check here to see who was available and we could all meet up, introduce littles, let them go wild, and perhaps we could also make new friends.

Any input?  Suggestions?  Anything?

ohh thats so cute!!! My daughter is not old enough to appreciate books yet (she just eats them) we read to her at home but she rips the pages out so I think we will wait for a bit but i cant wait to go to the library!

OH AND THE PARKSVILLE LIBRARY IS GREAT, MY HUSBAND TAKES MY SON LIKE 4 TIMES A WEEK, AND YOU CAN EVEN BORROW MOVIES FROM THERE, HE HAS SO MUCH FUN SITTING IN THE KIDS CORNER AND PICKING OUT BOOKS AND MOVIES. HE HAS HIS OWN LIBRARY CARD AND I GAVE HIM ONE OF THOSE REUSABLE BAGS AS HIS BOOK BAG, HE THINKS THATS JUST GREAT!!!!!! AND HE LOVES CHECKING OUT THE BOOKS BECAUSE YOU GET A STAMP ON YOUR HAND!!!!!!

IN PARKSVILLE THERES A GREAT PARK AND BEACH AND THE LITTLE FISHIN POND AT THE NEW RINK IS GREAT TO SKATE ON FOR THE LITTLE DUDES, THERES NOT MUCH ELSE TO DO IN PARKSVILLE, THEY REFUSE TO ENTERTAIN KIDS SOMETIMES I THINK, WELL THERES ALWAYS THE GREAT OUTDOOR RUNNING AROUND THAT TOPS IT ALL!!!!! WE GO TO NANAIMO A LOT TO PLAY WITH HIS COUSINS AND JUMPIN JIMENYS IS FUN FOR THEM ITS LIKE KIDZONE OR PLACES LIKE THAT, AND THERES A BIG SITTING AREA AND CAFETERIA FOR PARENTS TO WATCH. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH PLACES LIKE THOSE IS, IT SEEMS EVERYTIME, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU WASH AND WIPE THEIR HANDS, AND I DO A LOT, IT SEEMS THEY STILL GET A COLD A COUPLE DAYS LATER, WELL MAYBE NOT EVERYTIME BUT THERES BEEN A FEW TIMES NOW!!!! YOU CANT BEAT THE FRESH AIR!!!!!
