So yesterday I found out that up until a few short weeks ago I was pregnant with twins. I'm currently 14 weeks with this pregnancy and am the mother of a healthy happy 18 month old girl who survived a major placental abruption at 18 weeks into that pregnancy. So now, I'm trying to wrap my head around this whole VTS idea. Is my remaining baby at any risk, is my pregnancy going to be altered by the fact it began as a multiple, but mostly its going to be an attempt at coping with the idea that I've lost a baby along the way, even if I was unaware that he or she was there. So far thats the thought stuck in my head the most.

So ya

For those who've already gone through this, thoughts, advice, idea's...anything would be appreciated.

Thanks

Rosa

From what I take VTS as is that the twin that vanished became sick. My doctor actually told me that since mine had vanished so early, if it had been the only child there I still would have miscarried it. Then I would have not only felt the pain of losing that child along the way, but I also wouldn't have had there twin to remind me that I should be happy. I still cry now, and I found out that I lost the twin just over a year ago, and my daughter is a happy healthy 4 month old. Reading the things that other mothers have gone through with VTS can sometimes help with coping, but then there are those ones that you read that really tug at your heart. Just remember that there isn't anything that you did wrong, or anything that you could have done better to prevent this, and your baby is as some people like to say, in a better place.

Hey. I hope all is going well with your pregnancy. I didnt have issues throughout the pregnancy after I lost Baby B but I did have issues at the birth with retained placenta etc.
