What does everyone do when the rainy season starts and playground trips become more infrequent?

I've been taking my 8-month old to water playland at Commonwealth Pool on Tuesdays from 11:30 to 12:15. We're also going to give baby aquafit a try on Wednesday. I believe drop in is about $6.50.

I may need to in vest in a muddy buddy for puddle jumping :) that sounds like a great idea. Sometimes the most obvious ideas are the ones that you have a hard time thinking of! Thanks for bringing it up Whitney! -- As for the strongstart preschool, what a great idea and it must be a wonderful place for meeting other kids and parents too..

we've just discovered Strongstart preschool - a free government run preschool for kids under 5. It goes monday - friday at an elementary school for a big chunk of the morning and is drop in. A free healthy snack is also provided. It's great - my daughter loves it and we can go often or not and stay as long as we want. I only wish I'd known about it sooner! It is a parent participation preschool so you don't get to drop your child off - but it is free, stimulating and easy to fit into a schedule.

We like to pull on our rainboots and jump in the puddles. My daughter loves it and it tuckers her out before her nap. The library also a good place to go. They have activities for every age where you sing, play games, read stories. Its really great.
