WOW....what a sadly quiet room! But maybe the silence means all is well. Just thought I'd jump in here. I'd like to find other virtual schoolers....especially in our area. My son is a 2nd grader enrolled with the Virginia Virtual Academy. The curriculum is provided by k12. So far, we really like it. The reason we chose the VAVA versus public is because it simply wasn't working out. My son is rather sensitive....so he was just plain unhappy....but he's also a high achiever with a low tolerance for boredom. SO, here we are. I'm hoping my 1st grader who is still at our brick and mortar school will join us next year. My second grader is learning SO much more and moving along SO quickly.

Pick the school that has the things you want in a school. Look at the curriculum they provide well. Can I ask what school you are looking at? I enjoy my children in the virtual school. It allows for flexibility that my children need. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Hi Rebecca, I see taht you posted this question last year. We are looking at transfering our daughter to virtual school. Do you have any advice or insight that you can share?

We wanted to home school but wanted the accountability of a public school and this fit the bill. We have not regretted the decision and re-evaluate each year to see if it is what our family needs. I will not say that it is easy but nothing worthwhile is never easy.
