I am a baker, I hurt myself at work in December. Here we are nearly in Feb and the physio says that I still can't work more than 4 hour shifts 4 times a week. To be fair to him I had a flair up in my back the last couple of days... and yes he is probably right. But the company I work for is dragging their feet when it comes to sorting out the paperwork.... so I am getting no income help... only getting paid for the hours that I am working. I can't do the stuff I want to around the house either.... I am just going a bit nutty... there I vented

Just an update, my work cover has come through with my job (thankfully). I am up to working 4 6 hour days now but am finding it hard. The fact that I can't do it without being in pain is very hard for me to deal with. Before I got hurt I used to work 10-12 hour days.... 6-7 days a week. I feel like I am not pulling my own weight and yes I know it is silly to feel that way. I guess it comes from not working for 10 years while I was married as my husband (now ex) wouldn't let me. I can't do the things that I want around the house either, it doesn't take much to flare my back and shoulder up. I guess my biggest overall feeling is one of frustration.

Hi LaWanda!

A few years ago, I was hurt at work. I fell off a horse that got spooked. I ended up in the hospital for 3 days. My boss tried to tell me that she didn't have workman's comp on temp employees, but had it on her 3 full-time employees. My mom talked to a lawyer at the hospital (she's a nurse there). We found out that my boss couldn't delegate who had access to the comp. If she had it, it was for everyone. I went to her and told her she'd be hearing from our lawyer if she kept trying to stall. That was enough to kick her butt in gear and get all the paperwork filed.
