I wonder how many of you slamming these women are also "pro life" and would condemn them for getting an abortion or seeking out free contraception. It's so easy to sit in judgment of others, but unless you have lived at least a month in their lives, I hope you are atheist, because god will pass the same level of judgment on YOU. Are there welfare cheats? Yes. Are there members of Congress that use their insider info to get rich? Yes. Are there anti-gay activists who are secretly gay? Yes. My cousin has 4 girls and 1 boy, 3 baby daddies, which she is living with the last one, she doesn't work and is 29, so I know how you feel, to bring innocent babies into this world just for welfare isn't the way to go, my cousin needs to seek help before she wants another one soon....her boyfriend must like the welfare as well since he's the only one working and paying for everything

i so agree with you my sister is this girl your talking about to a tee. she has never had a job sits at home all day yelling at her kids. she is on welfare and her bf of 8 years is also on welfare and he works as well and they have their family allowence and gst!! but the thing is they can never afford to feed their kids which is shocking when they have soooo much money coming in.its all spent on weed and gambling!! sorry for ranting but it pisses me off too especially when its my own sister!

A great post.
You will never change the "I'm entitled" mentality. The government will need to change rules.

If they stopped allowing teenage mothers from even qualifying for welfare, it would stop a good part.Their partners, families, friends will either take care of them, or they will get their act together and get a job. Another option is adoption.
You'd be amazed how quickly the welfare birth rate will decrease.

If they make work mandatory for all able bodied recipients, it will stop a lot of the baby popping mothers.

The people who spout off about not being "fair", well chances are they are part of the problem group I am referring to.

People like that annoy me. If you need to be on or claim Centrelink/Welfare then stop having children. It annoys me seeing how much tax gets taking off my hardworking hubbys paycheck, to go towards paying people like this who do nothing. We only have one income in our house and I dont claim any benefits at all. While I know people who have claimed benefits because they lied about their circumstances-those people annoy me more.

I personally feel that if you are on welfare and do not have a job and get pregnant again WHILE on welfare, you should not be allowed to receive any additional benefits and be kicked off everything except food stamps. I have no issues with families using welfare if they need it, but to keep having kids when you don't work and are not supporting them pisses me off. And NO, you do not have the right to sit on your butt at home collecting welfare when neither parent is working and keep popping out babies because you want more. That is MY money you are using to take care of YOUR kids that could be spent on MY kids. I was a teenage mom, and I got my stuff together. I'm a nurse and work damn hard and a lot of hours to provide for MY children as a single mom. I have been blessed with a wonderful fiance (who is not the biological father to any of my four children) who takes care of my kids five days a week while I work, then I watch my kids and my wonderful stepson on weekends while he works (I make more money, so I have the full time job.)

I 110% agree with you,she seems like a real winner!
Maybe she needs to stop goin out to clubs and maybe she will stop popping out kids she cant take care of...The system is their as an Aide and not as something to mooch off for the rest of her life,but apparently she didnt get that Memo...She should be forced to have her tubes tied cause its not so much she abuses welfare, although she does do it and its wrong,but shes horrible to her children and doesent take care of them, I feel so sorry for those children.

I hate seeing this! I'm struggling to try and support my 2 girls by myself, receive almost no gov't help (I do get food stamps) and yet I see more women having multiple babies by many different men and not caring at all how they are taken care of while they walk around in new everything while I just bought myself a new work shirt in Walmart for $4 because I'd rather make sure my girls have what they need first!

People like this make me SO angry. I know quite a few.
They make it impossible for people who really deserve the help to actually get it.
They set the standard so low... single parent + 4 kids + NO income = the highest need.
That makes a 2 parent, 2 child, working household seem like they're rolling in dough. This is not reality.

People need to stop being so lazy. =[

Well said Rachel. Having had two ectopic pregnancies and both tubes removed, I can't extend my family. Both my girls have the same father and I'm still with him. We both work hard to provide them with everything they need, and do not live off the welfare state. Living on benefits shouldn't be lifestyle choice, and it should be made a lot harder to survive with the money given to you. How about food and clothing vouchers instead of money?

I totally agree!!! I think women like that should be forced to have tubes tied or be put on BC!!! Its not fair to them kids either and women who have so many different babies daddies are also doing it for the child support they use there kids as meal tickets it is totally BS!!!
