Don't they want to be solicited to?

When a mom asks about working from home, aren't they looking for a company/business to work for? So why not allow people to reply with information of a company they work for? I understand that it is annoying if you aren't looking for a job, but there is a community full of people who are. I think it should be allowed in that one community. What are your thoughts?

Hi Andrea,
As the new administrator of this community, I will be enforcing the COM guidelines which does NOT allow postings of personal business websites. I completely understand your point in that this is a community where people are asking for work at home jobs. You are free to post the name of your company, what you do for the company and any other information that you feel is useful without posting a link to your personal website. If another member of the community is interested in finding out more information, they can send you a PM asking for additional information. I also think that it's important for people to consider what is being asked. We are here to add value and help those that are requesting assistance, therefore, if someone is asking for a job and specifically states that she does NOT want a business opportunity, I hope people will respect that request and truly try to help the person that is making an inquiry and not provide information that is not relevant. If someone is asking for a work from home job and states that she does NOT want to do parties, promote products, etc. then it does not make sense to reply with information about a business opportunity. I hope this explanation answers your question but please feel free to send me a message if you have any other questions.

Andrea,

These replies are allowed only if a member is asking for such information. Although, each community differs due to the different rules of the admin. If you are curious about your admin's rules, you should send her a PM.

Otherwise, any new threads that offer up a business opportunity without being asked for one is considered a solicitation.

We hope that clears things up for you.

Best,
The Circle of Moms Community Management Team
