Hi everyone! I'm Cami. I am a stay at home mom of a almost 2 year old. I am also a part time college student and I babysit 2 others kids 2-3 times a week. When I was pregnant I gained 60 pounds and lost some but I have gained it back. I am having a very hard time losing weight. I can't get motivated and I never feel like I have the energy to do any kind of exercising, I have cut out most of my caffeine (I'm from GA and it's been so hard to give up my sweet tea) but i dont eat a whole lot at one time. I do have the tendency to snack. I want to eat healthier for my meals and my snacks in hopes that it will help me lose some weight. Does anybody have any suggestions for healthier meals or snacks? I would be so grateful!

p.s. I have two weddings to be in this year and I really need help and support to lose weight!

Thanks,

Cami

I am not a huge fan of veggies either, so I have to make myself eat stuff like ... gronla bars, slim fast bars or drinks, the list goes on and on. But I stopped eating potato's. What a differents. Hope I helped.

Hey Cami I feel your pain. Weight loss is such a big part of my thought every day. I am about 25 to 30 pounds from where I need to be. I have a big family and spending money on worthless books and expensive plans is just too much these days. So I am taking it step by step. First I have taken sodas out of my diet, added more vegetables, and started walking, dancing, or running around the house for exersize. I don't know if this helps you but I know how difficult it is to stay motivated every day. Just remember you will go back to some of your old habits but just do better next time and the healthier lifestyle will become easier. Don't give up on yourself and make small changes every week. Good luck!

Hi Cami!

We all know how difficult it can be to lose weight...especially after a baby.  I did a ton of searches online and found this page by Rob Bailey; he's a Weight Loss Coach and Fitness guy from Hollywood.  His program basically debunks a lot of the "weight loss myths" out there.  From what I have found online, did you know:

Many so-called "health foods" are actually cleverly disguised junk foods that are high in sugar alcohols, artificial sweeteners, salt and additives that actually cause you to STORE more fat and keep you craving bad food

Losing weight is always about your nutrition and the frequency and timing of what you eat

Fat burning pills and supplements are a waste of your hard-earned money, because they don't improve your body

Those fancy exercise machines you see on late-night TV infomercials...they don't work.  They get a fitness model who ALREADY has a fantastic body (through real methods) and film them working out for 5 minutes on the "new" exercise gadget, to convince all the desperate people at home that it produces perfect abs in minutes. Then they pay a celebrity to endorse it and some hired actors to give their "success stories"

Also, almost every book, eBook and course out there tells you that MUST do at least 30 to 60 minutes of moderate cardio exercise (like running, cycling or swimming) 4 to 5 times a week to burn fat.  Well, Rob says doing long, steady cardio sessions is actually counterproductive if you're trying to get lean quickly and stay that way permanently

He has a ton of information on his website...and best of all, his fat lost system is an eBook, so you can download it immediately and start using it.

Here's a direct link to his site:

Hope this information helps you....good luck!

Hi Cami--I'm a stay at home mom of 5 & 6 yr old girls, doing Arbonne as well. I had a very difficult time losing weight after my second & also had quite a bit of post-partum & premenopausal symptoms. I started using the Arbonne Figure 8 products to lose weight & started exercising & running. I'd be happy to send some samples to you if you want.

I am from the south too and giving up my sweet tea was the hardest part. I am struggling with my weight as well. I am a south beach fan so I eat everything in their books. Good luck.

I feel for ya, I gained 50 pounds in my last pregnancy, but fortunately have had time to go to the gym. However, I also switched to diet pop (what mom with young kids can go without caffeine?! My problem was easy meals and snacks. I really found those veggie steamers that you pop in the microwave are very healthy and actually taste great! I'm down almost 40 pounds in less than 5 months.

I feel ya! I have a lot of great healthy meals ideas. What do you like to eat? I know being busy it's hard to eat right. On the weekends, I plan my meals for the week. I plan according to my schedule and if it's a busy night it's an easy meal. We eat really heathy and alot of variety. My problem is since I got pregant with my 7 month old son..I've had the biggest sweet tooth. Let me know what foods you're looking for and I could send you literlally dozens!!

Hi Cami! I hear you girl! I have a couple of help ideas. One, if you love your sweet tea, just make it with artificial sweetner, or maybe with Splenda instead of regular sugar. That way you won't feel completely deprived. And Two, it takes planning. Plan out the night before what all your meals are going to be the next day. Then have is all ready to go in containers, so all you have to do is reach in and grab it. This helps me IMMENSELY, because if I am already hungry and standing in front of the fridge trying to decide what I'm going to have right then, I end up eating something I shouldn't, plus I over eat. I hope that helps! :) Oh...also...have some protein each meal. It really helps keep you from being hungry. I keep hard boiled eggs on hand a lot. Great for breakfast, a snack or to cut up in salad. Or, you could mash one up, add a little lite ranch (or fat free) and some mustard, maybe a little dill -- make an egg salad sandwich out of it on 100% whole wheat bread. Mmmmm! I also am keeping 5 - 7 Weight Watchers frozen meals in the freezer for quick lunches or dinners when time is short and I am on the run (which is most days!) You CAN DO THIS!! Planning ahead is really really important and keeps you on track and not making last minute choices, where you might be tempted to blow it. Also, allow yourself a treat for dessert each night - 1/2 c. fat free raspberry sorbet, or get a bag of mini candy bars and allow yourself ONE each night. Twix is a good one to have, just because they are bigger than some of the others and you can nibble at it for a while instead of just popping the whole thing in your mouth and being done with it. Just know in your head...I'm allowed to have one as my evening treat. That way you don't have to deprive yourself completely AND you have something to look forward to at the end of the day.

before i got pregnant with my daughter i lost 60 pds, i had the same problem with snacking and i started prepacking snacks into little ziploc baggies, some with with carrots, celery, radishes, cucumbers, etc, some with nuts and raisins and whenever i wanted a snack i grabbed one of those instead of eating other n healthy things. another good snack is plain rice cakes with organic peanut butter its good for curbing the sweet cravings i found. good luck!! just stick with it and it will become second nature.

Hi Cami - I gained 65 lbs. with my son and 4 years later i still have 25 to go...I fall in and out of my motivation phase :) If you like snacking then you should go to HungryGirl.com. This website is the ultimate for ALL snacks that are good and bad for you. Although the website is not affiliated with Weight Watchers, she also gives the point references for all her food. Great ideas, recipes, give aways and just an overall fun site. You can even sign up for a daily email which acts as a small reminder and motivator. It sounds like you are really busy, there is no doubt that you can lose the weight, you didn't put it on overnight, so it's not coming off right away either. Best of luck to you. I don't check in here too often, but I'd love to know how you're progressing. You can do it!!!
