How long did it take you to loose your baby weight?

I just had my first baby (dec 9) and I'm about to start trying to loose the majority of the weight I gained (60lbs..) I was just wondering how long it took other women to loose their baby weight and what had worked best for them.

I gained 52 lbs and have 6 left. My daughter is almost 14 months old! So a long time. Ha. I imagine it will be gone in the next month though because I'm extremely active right now. Just in time to start working on number 2!

I haven't really put that much effort in obviously. I just eat real food and walk a lot and it just slowly melts away. I've started jogging here and there which is something I did before pregnancy. Comes off faster that way, but walking seemed to work pretty well, especially for the first 30 lbs.

I think I could have had it all off before one year but I was sort of trying not to lose anything because I bought a maid of honour dress for my sister's wedding and it was really expensive and no time to alter. So...yeah. I ate some ice cream. rofl. I still lost five pounds since I ordered it though.

Remember to reward yourself for monumental milestones towards the BIG GOAL of 60 lbs. Otherwise, you will get discouraged and might (eek!) give up. Here are some suggestions how to "treat" yourself other than using food: http://wp.me/pRa1N-6g

i was lucky with mine i put on 1.5 stones whilst pregnant i weighted 11.12 when i fell pregnant 6 days after having my daughter i was down too 11.11.... i was shocked. i just need too loose the 2.5 stone that has added up since having my first son 8 years ago.
with my second son i lost all the weight in 2 weeks. but i would say that even though i lost the weight quickly my body shape was very different from before and it took about a year too get it back how it was with my second son then i fell pregnant with my daughter,
everyone is different so don't beat your self up over it.just enjoy being a mum. xx

With both my pregnancies I gained about 20kg. After my first I lost most of the weight by the time she was about 9 mths old. With my 10 pound son who is just over 2 i never lost it all and seem to be on a up and down weight roller coaster ever since. Maybe we just get into bad habits when pregnant (ie eating for 2) and those 9 mths make it hard to change again later. Then add into that the exhaustion of being a mum and sometimes just grabbing whatever food you can. Not exactly a recipe for success. Just keep battling at it like we all do and think that we can succeed at anything.

i have never gone by numbers, however, i kept track during both pregnancies.
before i became pregnant with my son, i was a size 11...when i was pregnant with him in 2005, i gained 60 pds. it took me until january of last year to get down to a size 7/9. i was ecstatic!!
then 3 months later i was pregnant again. my daughter is 6 months old this week, and sadly, i am a size 16.
as to whether or not im happy...well that should be obvious =S LOL
im breastfeeding, yet nothings falling off me. i guess it all depends on the person.

well, I gained 52 lbs while pregnant, and I had my daughter 4 months ago. After she was brown I wieghed 250 lbs exactly. I now weigh 228. So with about 2 more months I think, I should be back downto pre pregnancy. It is alot of hard work to do so ( especailly since I have a very slow metabolism) but I think I can do it and even shed some extra unwanted weight while I am at it. Best of luck to you and all others as well !

My son is 7 months old. I gained 50 lbs during pregnancy. :( And beings the fact that my son was only 6 lbs 10 ozs at birth, the majority of the weight was me. I lost about 1/2 so far, so I still have 25 lbs to go until I get back down to 125.
I'm doing pilates and walking a half mile a day (with Bryce in a stroller) but nothing is helping... not even breastfeeding, and he still eats every 2 hours (during the day.) Sigh.

i had mine lost about 8 weeks after delivery but i also had gestational diabetes and was insulin dependent and on a very strict eating schedule while pregnant. i was told i had a max of 30 lbs and i gained 28! now tho, i have continued to stay on the diabetic diet and walk 45 mins to an hr every night with my daughter in the stroller. i have set myself a reasonable weight loss of 50 lbs by the end of the year. just hang in there and do a little at a time. if you want more info on the diabetic diet, send me a message ill fill you in! GOOD LUCK!!

I had my daughter in July 2009 and I too have been trying new things to take off those unwanted pounds! I gained 56 pounds and lost 35 pounds the first month and have, until recently, been having a harder time getting them off. The first product that I used was hydroxycut 100% hoodia pills $25. It's all natural but you have to stick to it for it to work. I started combining it with webber naturals Chromium pills $6 ( they are to help break down the carbs you take in at meal time). Just with that combination I've lost 11 lbs in about a month. I haven't even been sticking to a workout routine so I would imagine if you threw in a workout or two it would probably speed it up a bit. I haven't even been sticking to a super-calorie diet, I just cut my portion sizes down and learned to stop eating when I felt satisfied and that's what the hoodia pills are good for too. Of course you should always read the labels, I'm not sure if you can take them if you are breastfeeding. Good luck!

I gained 42 lbs with my first. I only lost about 10lbs of it. (which is pretty much just having the baby) I nursed for 12 months but for some reason it didn't fall off of me the way it does for many women. I am now pregnant for baby number 2. Hopefully I will gain less this time and be able to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight.
I talked to a friend who had gained over 50 lbs with hers and she only has about 10 left to lose. She didn't breastfeed or do anything to take it off and her baby is 5 months now. So I guess it kinda just depends who you are. Some are luckier than others!! lol

I gained 55 lbs with my first baby. She was born on 9-26-09. I lost 25 lbs. in the first month and then hit a weight loss wall it seemed like. I lost no weight during the second month and then lost 10 more lbs the third month. total i have lost 35 of the 55 lbs so far... What seems to work best for me is 7-10 small meals a day, consisting of about 100 calories each, lots of protein and fruit. I am not breastfeeding though so i do not need to take in extra calories for that purpose.

With my daughter who is 5wks I only gained 2lbs and lost it about 3wks after the birth. With my three year old I'm still carrying most of it :(

well i had my last one 2 years ago and i only lost 15lbs out of a 70 gained. but then for me i had 2 kids in 2 years. but let me put it this way most people only loose about 90% of their baby wieght most are stuck with the last 10%. my sister after 8 years is still carrying about 20 of her baby weight. but i wish you luck and hope you can do. they say the younger you are the faster you can bounce back and get your old body back
